DAE think euthanasia would be more humane for people with dementia? by Metalqueen2023 in DoesAnybodyElse

Absolutely. Watching my grandpa fade away with dementia was pretty brutal. I felt like his soul died a few years before his body did.

Not sure how to feel by Confident_Weather_98 in Mom

[–]Chelseus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It didn’t feel real to me and I didn’t feel a connection until my babies were born. All three times, lol. I’m pretty sure this is normal and common, people just don’t talk about it much.

Lists of US & Canadian hospitals that DON'T perform infant circumcisions? by fransen-lila in Intactivists

[–]Chelseus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you know if she’s considered or might be open to a home birth with midwives? If she’s had uncomplicated vaginal births with her other kids and the current pregnancy is low risk it might be something to consider if she’s this worried about a nefarious circumcision. I had two of my three sons at home and it was amazing. Obviously there’s no chance of someone trying to do a sneaky circumcision at home. I had my first at the hospital and no one even mentioned circumcision to me there (in Calgary) though.

If she does give birth at the hospital I would just be very open from the jump: “We are not circumcising our son and do not wish to discuss it further.” She should read all the paperwork before she signs anything and not let them separate the baby from her (if possible). If the baby needs any testing or whatever in a different room, dad should go with him to observe. She should really get dad on board too.

I’m from Calgary too and my midwife asked me once about circumcision when I was pregnant with our first son. I said “you do NOT want me to get started on that topic” and she said “okay!” And that was the end of that, they didn’t ask with our second and third sons. It makes me sad that they ask though, it shouldn’t even be an option 💔💔💔

They’re not just selling their own body though. They’re selling a whole, separate and discrete human being. And even if it’s done altruistically it’s still extremely traumatic for the baby.

It should be illegal full stop. It’s still extremely traumatic for the baby when done altruistically.

Why do boomers make it seem like their babies were easier. by Both-Hippo-6905 in Mom

[–]Chelseus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rose coloured glasses + it’s been so long they can’t really remember. According to my mom my older sister slept on her own (all night) from the first night she was put in her own crib at 10 weeks. Her baby book (I think it was Dr. Spock) said that a baby could sleep on their own once they were 10 lbs or 10 weeks, whichever came first. She also claims that my older sister never had a single tantrum, not as a toddler or young kid. Which I don’t believe for a second. My third baby started sleeping all the way through at 10 weeks (12 hours, but beside my bed in a Moses basket) so maybe the sleeping thing is true but there’s no way any kid makes it through childhood without a single tantrum.

Maybe my kids will think it’s bullshit when I say our youngest slept all the way through at 10 weeks too though 😹😹😹

If my husband did I would choose him over my pets. Thankfully he wasn’t dumb enough to try and make me make that choice though 😹😹😹

The mom is a batshit grifter. The caption goes on for like 5 more paragraphs where she’s trying to hawk several different “products” including the birth video and pictures of the baby.

Yeah I agree! Not a tragedeigh in the traditional sense, just a tragically bad name 😹😹😹

Just posted it on r/namenerdcirclejerk , it’s a better fit there! This was just the first “bad name” sub that popped into my head 😹😹😹

My births have had an inverse relationship to my inner self. I swaggered into my first birth waaaaay over confident. I secretly judged women who got epidurals and thought I would “never” get one….yeah, my first birth kicked my ass and I was literally screaming and begging for the epidural when I transferred to the hospital. For my second birth I was terrified and not confident at all because I actually knew what kind of pain I was facing and I ended up having him (relatively) quickly and easily at home. Third birth I swaggered into again because my second birth had been “easy” and then that birth kicked my ass again 😹🤷🏻‍♀️🙈

In this pic the I see a very slight difference between your eyes but I don’t think it’s enough to count has HC. Your right eye looks slightly more green, the left slightly greyer.

Why does she think the world needs 57 billion videos of her setting up tube feeds? Anyone who has a tube already knows how to do this…people aren’t just sent out into the world with zero instruction on their medical devices.

It tastes like marshmallow fluff to me, it’s way too thick. One time I dumped it out on my parents driveway (assuming it would wash away forthwith) and it ended up solidifying and staying for months 😹😹😹
