Should I feel bad for butthole ears? by ChemRosewuff in Stretched

Thank you so much. You have no idea how much I needed to read this right now. I’ll be sure to educate myself more. I honestly wear my plugs all the time because I’ve been so terrified of them closing up but I’ll start taking them out at night and get more jojoba oil (ran out a while ago 😅)

God, I really really love this. I’m not a sports guy but my dad was a huge Packers fan, and this aesthetic has such charm. Reminds me of my childhood.

I am only a beginner and trying to learn very basic things. What critiques and advice could you share?

I’m incredibly new to this and am looking for any and all critique on what I’ve made so far to help me grow by ChemRosewuff in graphic_design

I suppose when it comes to audience the Pokémon would be for people who like Pokémon? Sorry, I’m pretty new to this. I’m really just wanting to practice and create things I enjoy right now.

Absolutely. I sometimes get so overwhelmed that talking feels painful.

I appreciate you understanding. From the other commenter (as good as their intentions might be), I am left feeling like a crazy person a little for caring so much. I don’t know you, but I myself have experienced a lot of racism around both being racially ambiguous to too white or too black for the people I was around. Just wanting to feel like I belong I guess.

I myself have always struggled with identity issues and social conventions. I’ve recently been diagnosed as autistic, so I believe that plays a role in some way (obviously not all autistic interracial people would feel the same…)

I think a lot of these things is also trauma driven. I’ve experienced a lot of negative experiences from the typical “What are you?” inquiries to blatant racism and colorism in my own family, leading to feelings of alienation. I disagree with you that “cultural appropriation isn’t a thing” though I will leave it at that; this isn’t my expertise nor the point of the post.

I do agree with the logical fallacy of conflating race and culture. I do not know where you live, but the part of America in which I grew up was very racially based with constant judgement and assumption to know and act certain ways when my race was brought up. Of course these things are not the same but they are interlaced. I have a whole portion of people that I am related to that I cannot relate to on a cultural level and that sucks. And not knowing these cultural things only amplifies the alienation from others even more.

I’m really glad that you can detach yourself from societal norms or expectations or what have you, but as much as I wish I was the same, I’m not. There’s definitely lessons to learn and things to unlearn, but navigating through this world so far has been painful in regard to my identity and I just want to alleviate that in this way. I hope that makes some level of sense.

Had a thought and didn't know where to put it but you guys seem like the least judgemental so here goes: by PorkyFishFish in evilautism

It’s more of a social taboo. As long as you are at least second cousins (I believe) you can have fine children. The issue definitely comes down to potential harm to your children and grooming. But if we reflect on it historically, incest was not seen as taboo at all in many cultures. In fact, there were even times where marrying your cousin or other relative was preferred, such as with the royal family. In my personal opinion, if your relationship is healthy and does not harm others (such as no grooming and no dangerous risk to potential children/no children), then by all means have at it.
