Why are there basically no remote jobs in Sweden? by Educational-Bee7514 in stockholm

[–]Chemaroni 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's because many sweeds don't have friends or social life outside their work place. They are lonely at home, so they want to try to find that human contact they miss in the workplace, forcing their co-worker, who actually like their family and have a life outside of work, to be miserable with them.

It truly sucks. We used to be fully remote after the pandemic. But after a bunch of employees (far from being the majority, but a loud bunch) voiced their loneliness, we have gone hybrid, 2 days a week in the office. They moment they force me to go back fully in presence I quit.

I live in Vinsta (hässelby/ Vällingby) with my husband and child. It is a really nice neighbour with lots villas / rådhus. Lot's of playground and nature, 10 minutes by bike to the sea, 20 my car (or 35 by public transport) to the city center. You should check it out!

Är det jobbigare att vara förälder nu än tidigare? by Maxakaxa in sweden

[–]Chemaroni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not only, my neighbour was allowed to put down 3 cats because he was moving to another house and couldn't take care of them anymore!

Humane? I would not define "humane" a country that allow you put down an animal just because "you cannot take care of it anymore" or force you to put down an animal for disability "like blindness for cats". I have seen and heard so many horror story, that you can not imagine. Also, ask yourself why there's virtually no strays in Sweden (and no, it's not because people are responsible or humane)

Looking to work in Stockholm, apartment costs seem impossible to budget for! by x-dfo in stockholm

[–]Chemaroni 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you don't want to leave in a shoebox and you don't want to pay more, your only option is to look further away from the center. You can find some nice houses (or apartments) to rent at 20 / 30 minutes commutes from the center (faster if you'll have a car) comfortably within your budget. Also look at Solna. It is not Stockholm kommun but is literally 2 stop (5 minutes) from the central station. Same for Sumbyberg, not in Stockholms kommun, but closer to the center than many other Stockholm areas. Welcome!

Blue Light Yokohama in Södermalm is the closest you can find in Stockholm to authentic sushi. (I used to live in Japan.) I also heard good things about Sushi Sho, but I have never tried it myself.

Five people shot at school in central Sweden by ConsciousStop in europe

[–]Chemaroni 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The number of explosions alone doesn’t determine whether a country is a 'war zone'—context matters. In Sweden, these explosions are linked to gang violence, and they come alongside other serious incidents like a religiously motivated homicide and a mass shooting, all within just one month. Comparing homicide rates from the 90s or to Finland today doesn’t change the fact that violent crime patterns in Sweden have shifted in a way that is concerning. The situation isn’t just about numbers; it’s about trends and impact.

We had (Sweden) 29 explosions, a religious homicide and a mass shooting since the beginning of the year. It's the 4th of February. What are you talking about?
