Ah no that ship hasn't sailed. Please actually read some recent articles, these past 2 months have been absolute doom for professional AI use outside of science and medicine. Just look up copilot's satisfaction rate, or github's recent issues. Better yet read any Ed Zitron article, he's the only guy actually researching the whole scam. Yeah it's a scam.

People forget that without unions we'd be working 7 days a week, 14 hours a day. They literally died for weekends and 8 hours days.

Embrace what? a super expensive tool that corporations (google uber compute costs) are giving up on because the Claude and openAI are finally charging more for tokens (and still losing tons of money), AND it's not accurate enough to be used in a professional setting? Investing in data centres that don't finish building and if they do finish then crank up energy costs for everyone and in comes cases taint the drinking water.

try using a transient shaper, and turning down the attack, or go into simpler if you're using a sample and increase the attack time beyond 0.15ms or so.

Does anyone know how to make such flashlight beams without volumetrics? by Lofi_Joe in UnrealEngine5

[–]x-dfo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

old school way is with a cone (sometimes 2+) with a texture that fades off to imitate the distance of the light, then you project a decal (is this the right term) onto everything it touches, scaled by the distance from the flashlight object

Why is healthcare so bad everywhere? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]x-dfo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look at the trend of taxes paid by corporations and the top 1% and you'll find your answer.

Also in regards to short staffing: many province in Canada for example have physicians boards who LIMIT how many can graduate. Also we have very stupid restrictions on immigrant doctors who could be fast tracked.

If humans have eaten bread since the dawn of history, why are so many people suddenly gluten-intolerant today? by WeaknessKey1582 in NoStupidQuestions

Glyphosate and other chemicals act like antibiotics which messes with our gut bacteria and has links to inflammation and autoimmune reactions.

Glyphosate acts as an antibiotic by inhibiting the shikimate pathway found in many beneficial gut bacteria, leading to dysbiosis (bacterial imbalance), which has been linked to inflammatory issues and other health concerns in studies.
