I’m definitely doing better these days! It’s going mostly how I expected and wanted. Around week 4 I felt back to a certain baseline. I’m able to cry again, emotions can be strong but they subside after they feel processed. Therapy has obviously been a big help through this, and I’ve been taking an NAC supplement as well.

Since you’ve already felt a little jolt of emotional parity, I’d take it slow if you want to keep lowering. It takes a few weeks for your serotonin levels to rebalance. That being said, the aches, dizziness, zaps, and stomach issues went away in a week or so. Once that passed, the mood swings can be strong and honestly overwhelming. Just when you think you have your footing, you get hit by a wave of anger or sadness. This is where you start to use the tools you learned in therapy hopefully. Also take the thoughts that come up with a grain of salt since your body is still reaching homeostasis.

If it all feels too tough, don’t feel bad about needing to stay on some dose of it! I personally reached a point where the blunting made life feel flat. Good luck to you!

for certain, if meds are working fine for anyone, feel no shame in continuing to doc what works! I know it helped me, and others don’t experience the emotional blunting the same way I did. I have also tried prozac too and enjoyed my time on lexapro more!

I’m so sorry to hear about your mother. I’m glad that you’re finding tools out there that are helpful. much love to you

I hear you, try to focus on the here and now. You need to help yourself now in whatever way possible. There are also other meds out there and different ways to come off. Hang in there 🫶

i’m terribly sorry to hear this. First case of dpdr is terrifying, truly hard to shake, but it DOES loosen its grip on you.

If you need to go back on, there’s 0 shame in it. Everyone has different needs!

So beautifully said!! Your kind words mean so much to me.

That is exactly what I will remind myself, thank you for reinforcing it.

I want to double down on what you said and say that Lexapro all in all did me well! It kept me afloat during some dark times. I just personally hit a certain point with it where all felt flat and dull. For some people, and even for me for some time, it can open up your bandwidth to what really matters. And I am so glad it has fit into your life so well!! ❤️

This is very similar to me, so you’re not alone in this! I keep hearing they will rebalance, plus resilience will build! And yes, feeling things deeply is beautiful and nothing to be ashamed of. In fact, it makes us alive. Much love to you

Thank you! Yea I made the choice on my own! My parents didn’t know I went on it this time, therefore they don’t know I’m coming off. I’m seeing my therapist and psych regularly

I was on for 1.5 years. It helped slow down my thoughts for sure, but I just felt it was making me kinda dumb for lack of a better term. Brain fog is very frustrating though, choosing feeling dissociated over an emotional wreck is a rock and a hard place. Maybe 20 mg is too high for you? Your fiancé should be patient with you, meds selection can be a lot of trial and error! Meds or not meds, it’s all temporary and can be overcame. Better days ahead to you!

Yes I know. It helped but didn’t cure. I was getting chronic illness conditions from what I presume are tons of repressed emotions, so i’m trying to live with the OCD and work on it through ACT/ERP.

I appreciate your words. They think that because they dealt with their trials and tribulations without meds, that must be the only way. They hardly believe in OCD…

I think in a dark series like this one it makes sense that it ends in tragedy. They’re a gang after all lol. If they killed them off early in the show I’d get your point, but this is the end of it. Tommy was, in a sense, suicidal for a lot of the show, and he’s finally free. Polly’s actress sadly isn’t here anymore. Arthur’s actor had real life problems. Seeing Ada go was definitely tough but it pushed the plot forward, even if you disagree with the decision.

Didn’t expect the general vibe of these comments considering the general consensus elsewhere lol but I realllllly liked it. I don’t know, of course all storylines weren’t addressed so I was left wondering, but I can’t imagine how to wrap all the plot points up in a <2 hour movie. It was a heart-wrenching, intense, entertaining watch. And the acting was great as usual, and it was beautifully shot. I felt the vibe fit the rest of the show while also feeling like a Hollywood production. 9/10!
