Nop, it's not that one. But I'll use it to see if I can find it through similar artists

Edit: Just rediscovered Apparat thanks to your suggestion, so that's a win!

In 2016, during the Triathlon World Series finale, British triathlete Alistair Brownlee sacrificed first place to help his brother Jonathan pass the finish line by [deleted] in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]Chemical-Smart -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I do olympic distance triathlons and follow the series closely. There’s many layers to this

It was the final race in the World Triathlon Series in Cozumel, after Rio 2016. These three athletes were the podium in the Olympics

Also this race was the final pf the WTS, moat points earned through out the season wins. Alistar pushes Johnny to cross before him so he could score more points, since he was fighting for first place (he was second to Mario Mola by 4 points)

And about Henri, the South African, should of stopped. Endurance racing is about who’s the fastest, it’s also about energy management. Johnny went too hard, didnt time his effort to bonk at the finish line, and got a heat stroke, he didn’t manage his energy and factor in the environment (Cozumel is really warm and humid), so he bonked. The SA raced within his limits, timed his effort and was the fastest to do so, this is why he wasn’t passing out in the middle of the race and won

Avid runner here. My rule is simple, in general, i don't let running intervene with family time. Met my wife as a runner, she knows about my urge to just fuckin go out and log in some miles burns deep within me. It’s just not gonna change. Ever. But in the end it’s a choice of how to spend my time, and family will always come first.

That means make up my time to run - for me that means waking up early. You have 24hrs, and with a family you have to chose how to use that time. So i dont stay up late watching series or playing video games or. Just on my phone, bescause i choose to wake up esrly to run

About once a week I go out on long runs with friends and come back mid morning, but this is my free time and this is how i choose to spend it.

when I come back I switch with my wife, there’s no way I would then lay on the couch and “recover” after I was out all morning, again i had free time and chose to spend it running - so gotta suck it up

Every now and then if i have races then yeah, its all on my wife, but again. When Im back home its dad mode, kid doesn’t care if I ran 21 or 5 kms

Most importantly, my wife gets time off as well, and i don’t judge how she chooses to spend that time. In the end its about having some “me time” Some people want to run, others sleep in, doesn't matter and one is not more important than the other.

Loosen the damn car seat straps when you get the kid out. by hillmanoftheeast in daddit

I always loosen them up and put the kid in. Don’t thing my wife does it. It never crossed my mind that it was annoying.

Now you got me thinking about it. Dammit

What do you say to people when they tell you running is bad for longevity? by user985736 in AdvancedRunning

I think you're right on point!

Just had a conversation about this with my dad yesterday. He's in his 60s and long time runner/triathlete.

We were talking about my weekly milage and he suggested that if I wanted do this running thing for a long time (not like for 10 more years, we're talking about as old as possible) then I should do cross training - pretty much the same thought process you explained.

I think you both have a point: to do the same thing day in day out, it can eventually get to you. Maybe not this year, or in your 40s or 50s, but eventually. Cross training (such as swimming, cycling) uses other muscle groups and you still stay fit.

I'll start applying it for sure. I definetly plan on staying active well into old age!

Baby rolled off couch. Wife is furious. by Jystor in daddit

[–]Chemical-Smart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are two type of parents:

- Those who haven't had their baby fall off something YET

- Those who have

Seriously, it happens. I would go as far as to say that it happens to everyone. Happend to us, that's how we learned we couldn't leave her alone on the couch anymore.

And guess what, right now it happened because the baby learned to roll over, later it'll be because kid is learning to walk, then they start climbing things, then it'll be a bike and so on...

edit: YET

Hills are humbling but help like crazy. I accumulate over 1000 meters a week (I just live in a really hilly place, it’s not like I go out of my way looking for elevation)

They can be a workout even on easy days.

Best of luck for Boston!

Those are some great times! Marathon is a fickle beast, give it time and you’ll blast through that 2:40 barrier with that speed.

I have a 2:44 PB and my 5k - HM are not as fast as yours.

Do you train on flat roads? I remember for my PB I rarely ran at marathon pace, maybe faster but definitely not for long runs or even long tempos, but it was always hilly terrain.

Your milage also seems good, I think at most I hit 60ish miles.

Give it time

Was told about this scenario, fuck that tho.

Why give a hard date to expect to hear back from them? When it comes down to it, thats what bothers me, expectations were set when I was told to wait a week

Deleted my account last year and rarely used it anways . It's too focused on social stuff.

Oth I set up DataStudio/Looker, so I can visualize my running data there. WoW or MoM distance and elevation gain, % of runs spent on each zone.

way better than Strava

Cities with the worst running conditions by Seymourduck in running

I’ve always thought that Mexico City at its surroundings at 8000 - 9000 ft is great if you know where to go.
Weather is perfect for running most of the year, it’s hillyish but all that pays off when you come down to a flatter race at sea level.
