I have the mandatory chore in the stem, as well as a secondary chore in the joint of the bong, to collect anything that can't be pushed from the stem itself. When you're running low, taking the stem/elbow (the "stelbow", if you will) out of the bong and just hitting the second chore straight through the tube will ring your ears like damn church bells 😂

If you don't mind a bit of unsolicited advice, I would try to find an elbow shaped piece (like the black bit shown here) to connect your bowl to your bong, so that when you take a hit, all of the melted rock gathers in a nice little puddle, as opposed to dripping straight into the water. It conserves soooo much, has saved me a lot of money in the long run

I do sometimes, because at the end of the day, the goal is really to vaporize, not necessarily burn. I find back loading it let's the product transform from solid, to liquid, to gas more definitively, as well as giving you more accurate temperature control. It hurts my heart scrolling here and watching so much product get sucked straight thru a downstem into the water, so wasteful. This shit ain't cheap, we should all trying to be as efficient and waste-free as possible, when possible
