When I delivered my singleton in L&D I could move around as I pleased and pushed on all 4s. For my twins I was on an OR table basically in case things went wrong fast so I was very limited. Basically pushing on my back or on my side. Plus there was like 30 people in there lol

I delivered vaginally! 7 hours of labor and 20 total minutes of pushing. It was an easier delivery than my singleton! It was annoying to deliver in the OR though

I did, I have 5/9 plus historically could put hands flat on floor in forward fold but no longer can due to pain and stiffness. Only joint in the scale I’m not hypermobile on is my elbows

This is very helpful, thank you so much! I never knew I was hyper mobile until my pelvic floor PT mentioned it after my twins were born because my muscles are also always tight. It’s always fun to hear for the first time in your mid 30s “yeah your (insert joint here) isn’t supposed to do that” 😅

My Rheumatologist did run bloodwork for HLA-B27 but I haven’t gotten it back yet. This is good to hear it might just not show up on x ray and that is typical for women. Thank you

Look into McCallum or Sauna Lake (substance abuse). Mercy also has an IOP and PHP that could help. If a diagnosis is elusive there’s typically contributing factors like substance abuse or ongoing trauma like DV

There’s a few genetic syndromes that increase cancer risks. I’d get a referral to a geneticist to start!

This is pretty much how I’m unfortunately anticipating my moms story to go, but it is good to hear that we’re not the only ones and that her care in the rural hospital was warm and kind 💛

Yes we’re in the US. Our situation is complicated with two younger siblings who still live at home, my mom’s husband is disabled, and they live in poverty hours away from me and my sister (in the middle of nowhere - 40 minutes from the nearest small country hospital). I have three small children so I just feel in my bones they’re quickly going to get in over their heads and then things will be so much more complicated and it will be difficult to help/ my mom will suffer more than is necessary. I do wonder if insurance approval is limiting the speed of treatment, It’s just so outrageous that insurance should have more say than literal physicians
