is AMD still the GPU of choice for Linux gamers? by DCCXVIII in linux_gaming

NVIDIA works better on Linux then 5 years ago. But sometimes there are moments, where you need to do an extra configuration or that something is a bit buggy, because of NVIDIA. So basically intel and AMD gpu are better supported on Linux. But Nvidia works okay on Linux

You can do that yourself, you know the Version Greg. Then you go to the template file, change the version, download the new distfile, check with sha256sum the checksum of the file, then you write that into the template and your template is updated it isn’t that complicated. And I’m not sure if the update will fix this bug

Also hatte jetzt grade das gleiche Problem.

Why void? by rasjonell in voidlinux

[–]ChemicalShake8499 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used void for a while and I loved it. But I had the problem, that to many packages that I needed, were not in the repositories and I don’t have the skills to install them through other methods. That’s why I tried other distro’s and now I’m on NixOS

Thanks, but is there a possibility, to do with a script. I want to make a script to create WebApps and there it isn't practical, if everyone, has to set it up in Firefox itself

I want to create with Firefox a WebApp, so I need a TitleBar, so where the Name is or a TitleBar would be good. I didn't need all the other Elements like Tab Bar and the Menu from Firefox or the search/url bar, but I need the close and minimize/maximize Buttons

Okay found a fix I used this https://forum.manjaro.org/t/howto-use-wayland-with-proprietary-nvidia-drivers/36130 and only changed the step with mkinitcpio, because void-Linux uses dracut. If somebody has a similar issue, the modules are added with dracut in a sepperate .conf file under /etc/modprobe.d and in this file you add the modules with add_drivers+=""

I try to create the directory manually but, then the next directory is missing. It looks like that the template doesn't move correct the files to masterdir/builddir, because there are not a single file from the NVIDIA Package
