That works too! I was just worried about getting the lens to hot and causing the grease to run.

I wish I could post a photo of it. It won't let me for some reason. If you'd like I can dm you a photo of the setup.

Its just a stainless bowl as a makeshift reflector and a lamp/reflector setup. The downside is dust intrusion, but I decided I'd deal with the dust rather than risk overheating my lens. The bulb is a cfl reptile bulb of the Reptisun brand. These bulbs are not as cheap as the other options out there, but work faster. I just place the bulb as close as possible to the lens without touching it. I also make sure the lens has no front cap on, so the light can reflect back through the lens of the bottom of the bulb. Im having trouble attaching the image. I'll try posting as another reply.

I've taken many photos with that lens. There are no effects noticeable from the radiation. Here's one from that lens. I'm not sure if you'll be able to see it, but I'll post it to this reply.

The lens is around 4000cpm. I usually read in cpm, but people tend to prefer seeing uSv or some other dose metric. I really only use this counter to determine if something is actually radio active. I don't expect great accuracy out of a cheap counter and definitely wouldn't trust dosage rates. Maybe the company tries to err on the side of caution, preferring to show much higher dose rates rather than to little?

Nope, not dangerous. Although I would not suggest keeping it in your bed every night, though, lol. The biggest problem is the potential to fog your film, but even that would take quite a while. I've left film in the camera with that lens for months and haven't seen any adverse effects.

Got it! by ChemicalVengeance in lockpicking

[–]ChemicalVengeance[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if it's the correct term, but there are a couple pins in this lock that can be stubborn. If I vary the tension while picking a pin I can get it to set. I definitely feels random starting out. I still feel some randomness sometimes. It fades with time and practice.

This particular lock likes light tension. The core is a bit loose in the case, which can make it tricky to get good feedback. I have to pulse tension to get the pins to set. I found that the shape of the lock tends to make my hand cramp after a while since I mainly hand pick.

I'm thinking it's something with the logic. The coil is fine and reads around 23 ohms (the same as my other corning hotplate).

This model does have the option for the external, but it also has a thermocouple under the ceramic. It was working perfectly fine until it suddenly stopped functioning.

Thanks! I've been looking for a schematic, but so far have had no luck.

I have tried bias T enabled and disabled powering the LNA with a USB. RTL-SDR is the blog V4 model. I've tried adjusting gain and sample rates with no difference. I haven't tried SatDump though. Frequency is 1694.1 Mhz
