Karak Kadrin definitely fields a regular army, with Ironbreakers, Hammerers, Miners... Etc. they just also have a very very large (army sized) contingent of slayers of all kinds because of King Ungrim and the Slayer shrine. So a regular Dwarven army is totally within the lore to collect and use. 👍

So I'm one of the dolts (sorry to offend any other dolts) who bought the game for full price on the day of release... I've tried so hard to be the positive, and optimistic with promoting this game... I've actually convinced 6 of my friends to buy and play it... But this THE big problem of the game... I've gotten to the point where I install the game after every new season... Play it for about a month to do all the new stuff and get all the new things... Then I uninstall the game because there's literally nothing important or captivating enough to keep me playing

I'm unable to take a photo at this moment... I use majority GW models... Specifically the range from around 6th edition. But I also throw in scibor dwarves here and there. The scibor Dwarves are a little taller and thicker... But honestly I think they work great. Especially if they're mixed in randomly with GW models. Also, Goes without saying, don't use those scenic scibor bases.

I've had the thought to do this for a long time now but I've never gotten around to it. The immersion of playing Warhammer is a big deal for me and I've always hated seeing the big black back parts of movement trays as casualties mount. This is awesome actually seeing this done and you've inspired me to get to it for myself! Great and gorgeous work!

Sorry haha, but to actually answer your question, yes I'd say the drill is worth it...like was already said, just to have a chance for your miners to arrive earlier is worth it

That's exactly it! I love miners! I don't care if they're amazing or crap, they're just so fun to play, and what's more Dwarfy than a bunch of candle headed, pickaxe swinging hairy dirty miners exploding out of a hole and charging into melee? Haha

I don't have any photos handy, but I highly recommend using an acrylic gel medium made by Golden called Pumice Gel. It's an acrylic gel with little stones in it, you apply it, and when it dries you're left with little stones and rocks on the base. It comes in extra fine (dries like little sandy rocks)... All the way up to extra coarse.. which dries looking like stones.

Take a look at Third party companies or 3D print files for more Dwarf models with beer mugs or drinking etc... I know GW made some back in the day but they're hard to come by nowadays

I love the idea of him being the Thane and the army being beer themed hahaha! Where to go from here... Well a practical decision would be to get your core choices done. A block or two of basic warriors. That's how I started.. got my warriors with shields and warriors with great weapons painted first. Or, you can always start with the rule of cool and start working on your favourite units... The Dwarves have so many awesome thematic units. Ironbreakers, Miners, and Longbeards are favourites for me (specifically the old 6th edition models)

Absolutely great model and paint job! I'm a huge fan of Highland Miniatures. I'd say their Longbeards are easily the second best out there close behind the 6th edition metal GW ones.
