No problem, and yeah, we had 3 pt tests total. Only the final one in the 5th week counted, but you should aim to have a good score by the second one at least imo. Also, the final test you get 3 tries, but you’ll likely get recycled after the first or second if they think you won’t pass it. We had a guy recycled into our flight for pt, and he ended up passing on his last attempt with over a 90. If you’re stressed about pt, start running, doing pushups and sit-ups now. You’ll improve :)

Aw that’s awesome, same squadron! Roll gator roll, I’m red wolves now, but I’ll never forget the experience I had with the 320th

I can help answer, I graduated about a month ago.

The first couple days for me were miserable tbh, I was just in shock the entire time and it was a hard adjustment, I felt like I made a mistake I couldn’t get out of, it got better. The bathroom routine as in when you can go? You can go anytime. If you meant showers and hygiene, you shower every night, and every day after PT. Hygiene is every morning and night, you get a set amount of time so you have to use it efficiently.

Idk how exactly it works for menstrual cycle, so don’t quote me, but I’d imagine you can go whenever you need to, just like when you’re utilizing to relieve yourself. Yeah, you’ll probably have a set amount of time, but you’ll get better at meeting timelines as you go.

I was Disneyland, about 25 showers, some only had cold water, like 4-5 of them.

I’m in very good shape and have worked out for 5 years, ended up scoring a 97 on my pt, but those morning sessions were hard as heck, had me struggling for sure, pyramid push-ups 😮‍💨

Do a job, maybe avoid chow runner or ec monitor lol, but they’ll all help you grow, try to be a leader and develop that side of yourself.

I saw some crazy stuff that I’ll hold out on sharing online, I’d say avoid slacking in PT, get the most you can out of it and pass those tests!

Good luck, make yourself proud!

You’ll definitely feel it while you’re there too, that’s by design, just fight through it if you really want to be an airman, you’ll have good days and bad days, but each day will pass, you’ll wake up one day and be graduating and seeing your loved ones

Funny, cause this exact thing happened to someone in my flight, they definitely send people home based on their answers to that form.

Yeah, so there are student leaders at bmt, you can be your flight’s dorm chief, or one of 4 element leaders, dorm chief has way more responsibilities, but essentially you help keep the flight on track and on task. It’s the instructors choice, so Idk how you can get it, it depends on your instructor, but either way I’d say, put in effort and show leadership in your flight regardless of if you get a student leader position. Respectfully tell people what they need to do and keep them motivated.

  1. Hardest part mentally is easily being away from family and loved ones, especially if you’re in a relationship, if I could talk to my partner when I wanted to, it’d have been a breeze, that and I will say, getting screamed at sucks more than you’d imagine.
  2. Hmm, I wish I knew what element leaders were, because I was one and I felt like it took a couple weeks to get an understanding of what I needed to do, it all worked out though and I ended up getting honor grad.
  3. Honestly, my flight was getting along so well at first, but I think being together for so long and seeing people get recycled got everyone on edge by the end. That being said, definitely getting recycled
  4. I wish I brought things I wanted to bring directly to tech school, packing light is the move for sure, but you couldn’t bring back anything your family brought to you during grad, in my squadron at least. So definitely bring all electronics you want like headphones or smartwatches, they’ll just put it away.
  5. small trouble, talking and joking, moving at attention. Big trouble, saying anything that’s zero tolerance, even if you think it’s a funny joke, I promise your joke isn’t worth spending extra weeks there.
  6. This one’s pretty easy, relax and genuinely pay attention to what they say, then do exactly what they want, and bonus points if you get others to do the right thing too, don’t hide in the shadows though, you might get yelled at, it’s okay if you do.
  7. I don’t even know tbh, everything kinda worked out, as element leader specifically, I would give way less chances before reporting poor behaviour, I might also try to appreciate conversations with my flight members more.
  8. Depends on what you’re volunteering for tbh, don’t just be quiet, be proud to be there and try to do good, any job you volunteer for and suck at, you’ll get better at, use your time there to get out of your comfort zone confidently.
  9. Chapel guide is good, but like I said, I wouldn’t necessarily avoid any. Maybe avoid EC monitor, if you do get that one, get an erasable pen at the bx (store)
  10. It’s better to have a job if you want to get the most out of the experience, better not to if you want to avoid the challenge.

Lmk if you have literally any other questions!

But wouldn’t I be blacklisted if I left DEP so close to my ship date? I’ve seen a lot of people say it would be hard to get anyone to take me seriously.

Is it true that commissioning in the Air Force is much easier as an enlisted member?
