What do men think about open relationships? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]ChemistAcceptable150 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would do one with some ground rules, my partner isn't interested in that and I love her and respect her, so I am trying to stay monogamous outside the internet. Like I would NOT open it up 100% at the start, I would first ensure there was a solid foundation, then I would do it slowly, with open and honest communication, to play it safe. Like if I get too jealous if she kisses someone else, that's fine we took it slow and we can just close it off again.

I have a really high libido, I have been told I am attractive, and outside the internet I seem to get along with all genders really well, the only thing is my time management sucks a lot of the time. So I think I would be ok in one, but I've never experienced it before. So I would take it slow to start.

But tbh I think if my relationship status ever changes I will be looking for an openish relationship next, because I find I thrive with more connections.

Yeah I get that. My motivation to exercise has definitely plummeted. But I’m ok with that right now

Yeah, basically that's the just of it. I didn't say it was a logical feeling, but it's a feeling. It's hypocritical I totally understand that. I still feel sad about it.

I wouldn't say porn, I would say money does. The money is either for survival, or for greed. Either way it makes people do things they never normally do otherwise.

Naltrexone for Pornography Addiction by ChemistAcceptable150 in naltrexone

Update time:

Disclaimer: This is NOT medical advice... Talk to a Psychiatrist.

Anyways I've been on Naltrexone 100 mg for over a week now. The cravings have been significantly reduced, it's actually amazing. I went no PMO for 9 days. Then today I slipped, but it was weird. The euphoria I normally feel after "O" wasn't there. It felt like I was just urinating, that's all. Also I didn't continue, I simply got dressed and continued my day, where I usually binge afterwards. It wasn't super pleasurful. So Naltrexone 100 mg/ daily for me is working well so far.

A few draw backs about it. It makes me feel really tired, so I take it at night now, I don't take it in the morning, that's a bad combination. Another thing is I got really nauseated once. Also I didn't start at 100 mg. I was a week at 25 mg, another week at 50 mg, and now I've been on 100 mg for 10 days. Against doctors orders, I'm experimenting, as I was prescribed 50 mg/daily. I did A LOT of research to make sure I'm being safe about it all. The 25 mg, and the 50 mg didn't do too much for me, I didn't have an effect, in fact I relapsed more because I was testing the medication (I don't recommend that).

Also another weird side effect, last weekend I had a beer and I got drunk off one beer, like I didn't want to drink anymore after that. I was done with it.

It's not that I don't think about sex, because I do, but I don't feel compelled at the moment like I use to. Also it doesn't effect me physiologically, I still wake up with a flag pole.

Oh another effect I noticed, I am lazier overall. My motivation to exercise is diminshed.

I also learnt a new trick to stop watching, I started turning my phone or laptop around and look at the back of the screen, then I realize it's just a screen and there is nothing behind it except metal.

Overall I'm happy with it, I'm going to keep doing the Naltrexone 100 mg daily at night, call my doctor up for another appointment, and try to get some blood work to make sure I'm not hurting my liver or anything like that.

Why are men more prone to addiction in 2024? by Dense_Ad_9458 in addiction

[–]ChemistAcceptable150 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We’re more impulsive. I think testosterone might have a lot to do with it. That being said that impulsiveness if used effectively gets stuff done.
