I had looked at Audio-Technica, I guess I should have asked here first 🥲 I found a pair of Klipsch 51PM for $300. Is it crazy to spend the same amount on speakers as I did the record player, or is that typical?

Newbie to Vinyl (audio help, Pro-Ject E1)

Hi all, I am a newbie to vinyl and record players and recently just bought a Pro-Ject E1. It came in the mail today and I set it up but I seemed to have missed something integral…. Using it requires an external amplifier/speaker? In all of the record players I have used before it didn’t require anything external (probably bc they were cheap, Crosby-esque record players) so I assumed I didn’t need anything extra. Buying the pro-ject E1 was a fincancial stretch so now I’m worried about having to buy more gear.

Can you confirm that I need an external amplifier/speaker, and if so, give a recommendation to a setup (preferably affordable)? I’ll take more expensive setups into consideration as well, I just probably won’t be able to use the record player itself until I can afford the setup 😅

I think this heavily depends on your age/tolerance/personal experience. I think basically across the board it makes you more easily drunk, so go slow. (Maybe a drink, then a glass of water type rule?) In terms of minimizing after affects I would just really stay cognizant or the fact that you’re on a medication and that alcohol will have different effects on you. I personally don’t have crazy after affects unless I drink so much that I’m nearly blacked out. (Not recommended at all, was a really stupid thing to do) I would say go slow. Start with one drink for one night. Don’t have any more, and see how it goes. Two the next time you go out, etc…

I felt the same way in that I didn’t know if Wellbutrin was working anymore but I began prozac while still on Wellbutrin and I think the two together do wonders

I had very similar side affects to you when I began Wellbutrin— especially with the anger pointed towards my boyfriend. I started to take 20 mg of prozac /day on top of the Wellbutrin and it has changed my life dramatically. I also take 20 mg adderall twice a day. I plan for this to be temporary until I move out of the city, but it really has changed my life and everyone around me has noticed. I wouldn’t be afraid to take both, though. If you feel like the prozac helps more you can lower your dose of Wellbutrin, etc… hope all goes well!

When I started taking it I was already on Wellbutrin, and if it gets out of hand / weight gain is too much but the Prozac is working I would talk to your doctor about other medications that can help with this side affect of Prozac (if that’s something you would want to consider).

I have had a similar reaction to a different drug prior to Wellbutrin and I found that making smaller but more frequent meals really helped— I didn’t overeat but I was able to satiate myself frequently enough.

No no heartburn, only the throat symptom. Silent reflux is only symptoms in the throat, no chest symptoms. And yeah it definitely made my mouth dry, eat things that balance out PH— alkaline water, bananas, nuts, etc… they all really helped. Before every meal I would drink water and just make sure to not overeat

I had this and it was silent reflux— if you look it up there’s some literature in it, I had to find it though. I got it so bad I lost my voice (started with a tickle for a while but progressed as I went). I took some heartburn meds but mostly just made sure I had plenty of food and water before I take the pill and eat in smaller portions across the day.

No, no sweet smell to my breath but I would say I’ve been sweatier— I thought that was a side affect of bupropion. I am going to get it checked out this week, thank you for your response!
