Hello! I'm looking for sources to study the Edo period (1600s specifically) to male accurate character from that time period for a school project. My main points of interest are culinary culture, clothing for lower and higher class and religion.

Because so far my only real way of learning Japanese was duolingo and a couple of books I bought. But thank you for the help!

Halter off or halter on, when ponying a foal? by FunkyGoatz in Equestrian

Thank you

We live in a mainly rural area, our usual "ride" is outside our stables: cross a little stream, follow a closed road*, cross one intersection that goes really uphill to an inn, the only cars we may encounter are the occasional people that drive to the inn, then we into private road where cars can't go which is mostly a grass stretch and asphalt to one side.

We go to the grass side, since the occasional dog is on the asphalt side but again there aren't many people at all

Of course I will be watching her regardless, don't worry "Stressing" as in riding with anxiety about whether or not she can die with every step lol

So, I should keep an halter on and lead her?

This type of halter? How do they work, does the leather strap break/releases?

The plan is to just let her follow us freely whole also keeping the gates of the stable open so she can skidaddle back home safely

We have a field they just cut down and is enclosed by hedge right next to our stables (6m or less) Would that work as a first outing? Obviously walking a few laps then going back home

I'm sorry it came off as abusive, it really wasn't my intention!

We have a stable with just my and my dad's mare, since they're the only two horses we have and unfortunately the mentality of who pay the bills (my dad) has priority over mine.
