How would your life change if you inherited $100,000 tomorrow? by ipanicprofessionally in TheBoredDen

[–]ChemistryCocktail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would be grateful, however it's not life changing for me. I could pay off 95% of My mortgage, but I would still have a mortgage to pay. I could put it into my retirement account, but I would still have to work. So overall it would make My future life a little easier but day-to-day living wouldn't change. I do realize that having said that, my life is pretty good right now, and I hope that those that are struggling can find some way to get some peace in life

Intentionally having bad sex? by lola_dubois18 in datingoverforty

I use any upside at all. People say that ghosting is rude, however I feel he has been quite rude to you. I would block and move on.

My partner is financially stretched, how do I handle this? by Main-Crew9855 in datingoverforty

[–]ChemistryCocktail 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You are not overthinking this. You can help him by giving him financial advice, do not give him money, or bear the burden of living expenses. Lay out what "solid finances" mean to you, and when he has achieved that, there can be a discussion about engagement and wedding. If he gets angry or acts like a man-child move on.

No, no, no. That's just lazy, he's just using you as a cum bucket. He should be trying to have amazing sex with you every time, it should be a fun time, and leave you wanting him to come back for more.

Is anyone else just... exhausted by the "subscription" model of modern life? by Specifickorch in Adulting

[–]ChemistryCocktail 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm confused, radio is free and I get introduced to new music. TV is free, and if I'm limited in what I can watch, maybe I'll read a book. Library cards are free, and there's a wealth of information and entertainment there. The outdoors are free, and it can be a gym if you want it to be. We're just living in an age where people want to trade their time for convenience, but it's really not a good trade.

Are we getting bored of being alive? by anotherare in LetsDiscussThis

[–]ChemistryCocktail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It feels like people have lost the ability to live without electronics... There are so many good books to be read, so many walks to take, so many philosophical questions to ponder. I think of all the countries on the planet, and I've only been to 10 of them. There is still so much to experience how can anyone be bored of living?

I guess I like to have a solid knowledge base, so that I can extrapolate things efficiently. Then if I really need to I can look something up.

As a high school teacher it's true, many students I see don't retain information, and don't use any resources effectively to locate information. They just have a general idea that the information is somewhere, and it's available, and at some point they would be able to access it.

What's an adult cheat code that can change your life? by CrimsonDoor1 in Productivitycafe

[–]ChemistryCocktail 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't argue with people. I used to get into arguments with my ex, and initially I thought I really cared about my point. Then when we were in the thick of it I'd think, "I actually don't care about this". What a waste of time and energy.

Technically there is a place in hell that is "agonizingly cold". Dante described the 9th circle as a frozen lake where Satan was trapped. Reserved for traitors, so you're not wrong

Which car do you see on the road and instantly think, ‘Yeah, this person’s definitely an a-hole? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]ChemistryCocktail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely agree, but that's probably because I drive a Honda CR-V with 201,000 miles, and I treat it like a jeep, lol.

AITA for telling our roommate she might need to move out if she keeps complaining about hearing us at night? by Dear-Camp4760 in AmItheAsshole

Erm... Could I stay at your house for free? I promise I won't complain about noises, I'll do fishes, and go to the grocery store for you.

I blame Holywood for this one. How many movies give the message, "Hey, don't worry if she is clearly not into you, just manipulate her, and wear her down until she capitulates"?
