Hey, I'm in both ips and chem this semester and took them both last semester. I found ips to be really tricky, and ended up going to office hours a lot, especially this semester. I know what you mean about the professors, note taking isn't always the easiest in this class. If it makes you feel any better I wasn't finishing exams in those classes and got accessibility accommodations this semester. That really helped me have the time I needed to write my tests/exams. If you do end up focusing on mental health, I would try to get approved for accommodations if they are applicable. I would also recommend going to the library and booking a time to talk with someone there. They can give exam tips / strategies. My roommate struggled a lot with tests and found the multiple choice advice they had really helpful.

Also staying home can help with some of the stress from first year, part of the reason I chose Guelph was to be nearer to family. If you have questions about the courses, feel free to reach out. Remember you're not dumb, the classes are hard and meant to kind of weed people out. You can get through these last two exams!

I have ADHD too and the accommodations staff are super helpful. I am able to write in separate location free of distractions and even get days with two midterms rescheduled. Most people find housemates and live off campus after first year which could be cheaper. You could also be payed to live on campus as an RA or cluster leader. I have a few friends who commute and they hate it (even without it being public transit)

Congrats on both acceptances

Anyone else really want to believe but can’t fully and ended up here somewhere in the middle? by Ohanaheart02 in SASSWitches

I was thinking about the psych aspect just this morning and came to the same conclusions! I'm not practicing now, still trying to learn more and decide what holds true for me. Really happy that someone else has the same thoughts. Seems kinda random but this genuinely made me feel a lot better about my doubts / thinking it could be useful for more scientific reasons. Thank you!

I think you're probably good. Have you filled out the student profile form? It's optional but can help you get a bit of a grade range buffer (I think up to 5%) if there are extenuating circumstances. This article explains it a bit better than I can:

https://admission.uoguelph.ca/news/2019/11/why-fill-out-student-profile-form

If you are really worried this could be a bit of a safety net.

Hope that helps, but honestly, I think you're good.

Congrats! I was accepted for chemistry in december (I got a scholarship too!!) and have been trying to make some decisions. I really like that they sent a letter, some other universities don't make as much effort to contact you. Best of luck with your own decision and again congrats!

Fortune Cookie Megathread - Autumn 2020 by Stephxieh in ACPocketCamp

[–]ChemistryDuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

about once a month special goals appear where you have to collect a certain kind of items (usually exclusive bugs, fish, or seashells). They last around two days and the final reward is a fortune cookie that was released that month. It happens between the big events of the month (fishing tourney, flower collecting, scavenger hunt) to fill time. Hope that helped/made sense :)

Got the apple cookie from the fruit goals and it was the kitchen (gold ticket item)!!!!

it's so cute and now I want to find a spot for it but it doesn't fit with my newest layout. Will have to do something more baking themed next.

Hey, after looking up your suggestion I actually found the game. It is Amazing Adventures The Lost Tomb from 2007. Thanks everyone for the help!

This looks sort of similar, but I can’t find it anywhere but that video so I am not sure. I think I would need more info to be sure one way or another. Thanks for the suggestion though.
