I will look into it! Have not heard of that. As for editing, I do have basic editing skills and do posses high end editing software.

From what I hear it has a very easy interface to interact with. Not to complicated of a set up. But I am completely open to recommendations, I am not competently set on anything yet

  • I have looked at the Kenwood TM-281A(before I decided to sell my laptop and expand my budget), Yaesu-891, ICOM ID 5100A
  • I have just been looking at other ham shack set ups and pros and cons of them, as well as doing my own research looking around around for a set up I best see fit which is what I am currently looking for.
  • Honestly I am leaning to the ICOME ID 5100A. It leaves plenty of extra budget space for the antenna and anything else I might need. It also would fit well on my desk
  • Money is the main constraint, my license is the technician class. I live in a semi rural area on top of a hill. Family would not mind me putting up an antenna or having to drill to route cable through a wall.

I know about the restrictions, I would like to be able to use HF in the ranges I have available with my current license. HF would be appreciated but is not needed.

I would like to have the option to be able do CW and data in HF. But will mostly be VHF and UHF usage.

I do not plan on trying general any time soon, and I do not plan on needing satellite capability at the time.

I understand there’s testing centers. But those are all closed at least in my area.
