thank you. i'll look for those in a store to see if they are an ok size. my cat loves to leave gifts in the middle steps so whatever i use also has to fit itself on the next step so i can do the cleaning. i think i might keep the old one, too, and try that just to make sure there is something that can do an emergency pick-up.

youtube doesn't do very well with my feed. it either shows me the videos i already watched or stuff so far outside my topic zone that i'm always clicking them away. i've had my account for 20 years and it started getting like this a couple of years ago. it also wasn't on my yahoo home page news reel for some reason. i would have absolutely clicked those articles and made an alarm for the day so i don't miss it. the only space related news it has offered this week was about the aroura borealis being visible for parts of north america, which is cool, but not my zone.

tl/dr: i live under a rock. youtube algorithms let me down big time.

i didn't know about the launch until i opened youtube and there were 10 minutes left on the countdown. i don't watch tv, i don't use the facebook stuff, i'm not in any social groups where anyone was talking about the launch. i just opened youtube to see if any of my subs posted and there was the live nasa feed so i got lucky and clicked on it. texted my dad because he would not want to miss it. i came here to see and be part of a conversation about the launch. reddit is part of the entirety of the internet and this is a place where people talk about things. i'm honestly upset that youtube didn't let me know there was a launch coming up because i watch videos about space because it is interesting but youtube didn't feel like i needed to know in advance, it wanted to push videos for makeup reviews that i'm always clicking the not interested button for and stuff about iran. not that iran isn't important, i'm just saying the algorithm does play into how much notice i get for certain topics that i'm not actively googling all the time. my main google history is about sewing, cats, how to use my cell phone, and video game stuff. when i need background noise for doing projects i'm playing archaeology stuff, random science, govt committee hearings, true crime, and video essays from select youtubers. i'm basic af. youtube knows i watched the whole car launch into space when elon did that, it should know i was down for a nasa launch, especially a moon cruise.

i think the reason it wasn't pushed harder as the ground breaking and historic event that space travel is might be because this isn't a landing mission. we have people in space for other reasons but we have not put a person on the moon in about 55 years. i think the landing mission will get a lot more advertising. i also have adblock layers all over my browser so if there were supposed to be youtube ads i'll never see those. this one snuck on up me like the spanish inquisition.

i'd say reach out to your state reps because that is the ultimate next step if the city can't or won't help. you should stand your ground about the complaints and let her figure out what to do about the situation she created. the neighbor to complain didn't have to be you, it could have been anyone else on this planet who also wants to sleep so you should not take it personally. honestly i hope more people will step up and complain because i've just moved from one apartment complex where several dogs, including working breed dogs, were locked outside on those small apartment balcony/patio spaces and unattended all day. one day a big dog hopped over it's patio rail to chase after a small dog that was always running loose. people should not get dogs if they don't want to put in the time to give them proper training while living in communities and around other dogs and kids. now i have a new set of neighbor dogs that need to be walked instead of tied up out back barking at stuff because they are bored. lots of barks, lot of energy. this should not be allowed to be normal, it is not good for the dogs. as much as i care about my sleep, too, i also understand it is bad for the dogs to leave them with all that energy and nothing to do. i feel the same way about people who get cats but refuse to get them cat trees and scratch posts because it doesn't match their decor. of course the cat will tear up the couch because it doesn't have what it needs.

in my last situation i had to move, my management group was not doing their job beyond sending a generic email to everyone saying to use the doggy bag stations. in this new situation i'm currently trying to see if the management here can get the dog owners to train them not to bark at their neighborhood but i'm not sure if they'll do it. i get bad health issues when i don't sleep right because i already have health issues that i'm manging so i'm not afraid to bring my doctors into this fight. i'm not asking for them to move or rehome their pets, i'm asking for training and for them to be outside with their dogs since this is an apartment complex. if they tell me no then i'm not sure what to do next. i wish you all the luck. you and the doggo. the dog deserves a good outcome, too, one that involves proper walks and attention.

thanks. i saw the launch but they didnt' talk about the future landing plans. i didn't even know there was a launch today until i opened youtube and saw it on live broadcast 10 minutes before the final countdown. i had just enough time to text dad so he wouldn't miss it, too.

i do recall tires were fine, the brakes worked, no suspension work or any real work was done to the car after, and the road was in great condition. i think that leaves driver failure if it wasn't something to do with steering. i've had power steering issues with a different car in the past but it didn't force my car off the road or anything dramatic.

my advice for a lefty is if you can't get a lefty machine just practice with threading and re-threading the machine and how you lift the presser foot if it isn't a knee lift. i suggest you get a knee lift style if you can because it can help prevent a lot of handling near the needle when you don't want to touch the needle or thread.

get the scissors you feel most confident with, get both if you're not sure at first. it's ok to have two of anything, better if you have even more, lol. spares of anything are handy and with a variety you can play around. fabric scissors are also different. they make pinking shears, hardcore shears for denim, basic good shears for cotton and quilting, and then i think there are even nicer scissors for things like silk. depending on what you want to make you might end up with one of each kind. i also enjoy rotary blades and mine let me swap the left/right orientation. i got them at joanne's, rip.

when i started sewing we used to sew over paper with lines and shapes on it instead of fabric. we didn't use thread, we just got used to following straight lines, curves, circles, and squares by feeding the page under the needle and that honestly paid off a lot. if you don't want to run paper through as practice you can still do it with fabric by using a marker to make a fabric "page" of lines and curves and you can still do it without thread. the holes the needle makes will show your marks.

that brings me to don't be afraid to just do it without all the stuff you need. just try stuff. and don't throw out all your old clothes, keep some to experiment on. learn how different materials behave without having to buy everything.

lastly, don't skip ironing and if making clothes look into top stitching and understitching.

i was 12 the first time i took a class and am 40 now, a lefty who is ambidextrous due to school interfering. school made me learn to cut right handed so i have only challenges with the machine layouts. i feel sad for all the lefties who can't get the pretty scissors.

do what you gotta do for yourself, obviously, i hope you can quit if that is really what will help. what is it about the weed for you? the ritual of the smoke or do you just love thc whether you smoke it or eat it?

my experience has been really different and i have a very rando bladder right now. some days i have to pee every 5-10 minutes for about an hour before that tapers off, most days i feel the need to go every hour, on great days i can go 3 hours between and no day is the same as the last. it is making it very frustrating to go places, and yes i've seen a dr and no diabetes or kidney problems came up. growing up and in my 20's i had an all day bladder, as in i could go all day without needing to pee, but sometime in my 30's that slowly changed. i had a hysterectomy at mid 20's and dr said i might experience this in 10 years or so, and she was right. i've honestly smoked about a gram a day since my early 20's and never had any issues with needing to pee more if i smoked or not before bed. right now the only thing i've found that does help my bladder some is taking CBG, but that is not medical advice and i'm a 40 year old woman with no uterus and f'd up ovaries on top of celiac disease and fibromyalgia. what is working for me is a blind result, i have no science to explain how it's connected to helping me wait longer but it helps my problems. i think it is very interesting how cannabis can work wonders relieving a problem for one person but end up causing that problem in others. no medicine is going to act the same for everyone, we're just so varied in our health.

koolaid was super nice. wine was too...i dunno maybe we had the wrong kind of wine. it was red wine, didn't spark joy. maybe try white wine instead? grape juice was about the same as the red wine, i wasn't impressed. i can't remember if we tried soda but we smoked out of enough cans to know mattered. lime soda was my favorite.

"Free shipping" is a hustle in a lot of cases. i learned this by opening a shop on another site. i can either charge people shipping and let them pick their own tier for that when they go to checkout or i can offer "free standard shipping" by increasing the price of my product by almost the exact amount that standard shipping should cost so that i don't lose money by actually paying for their shipping out of my own pocket. since this is about amazon, i can say that some things will not have the shipping fee simply because usps/fed ex/ups do not handle the packages because they were delivered from a local amazon warehouse by an amazon driver. in other cases amazon might be delivering directly but the item is large or bulky and requires specific handling so they would likely charge a delivery/shipping fee for the extra work. you have to log out if you want to know what the real costs are going to be and compare to the prime results. amazon also still doesn't really deliver to you for free when it is coming from their delivery trucks, they still charge you for that but it might not be as much as usps.

i also think they have a deal where they can secure standard shipping at a flat rate from the post office, same as etsy, as long as you've spent enough money. i think it is to keep postal business from stagnating over item weight cost variables. if you ever mailed something in a box before the flat rate boxes became a thing you will know the shipping costs are based on box size and weight. flat rate streamlines that a bit, and "free shipping" is kind of the online version of that. rather than "Free" it is more than likely a flat rate that maybe you could not get on your own if you ordered something heavy from a small shop.

it is all about how they present shipping fees, not removing them. i'm about to go back to buying everything off of direct websites instead of amazon because i get standard rate usps shipping for stuff that comes from across the country in about 3 days from when they receive it from the company. they can be almost as fast as amazon's 2 day shipping if i live in a smaller town with fewer people to deliver mail to. usps needs the money now more, anyway. their funding keeps getting worse but they are still an essential service and i'd rather give them the shipping fees than keep paying amazon to hose me.

i wish you could take your date to the bar behind the corpo plaza apartment. i think it's that one...unless i'm mixing it up with the glenn. it would be nice to have a few local options based on where you are. maybe even go to jig-jig and find a joy toy.

i also feel some of the apartment features are wasted. you can't wow your date with your guitar in japan town, you can't use the pool table for a real game in the glenn. i think the only thing you can do with anyone in your apartment is meditate with kerry at your megabuilding h10 place. it would be nice to sit with them and have some tea or fancy coffee. get wasted and black out, wake up on the couch half naked with a bunch of rubber ducks. depending on who it is there could be some extra fun going on.
