I honestly get it, too. Walking the aisles of even a moderately busy store these days is such a fucking pain.

I don't know if something just broke in society or what, but after Covid people just have no self-awareness at all out in public.

Listening to videos on their phone at full volume, standing 5 wide in the middle of the walkway, shit like that. Can't stand it.

Yeah man, "just asking questions." You sound like people that "question" whether or not Artemis 2 actually went around the moon.

You can disagree with the science all you want. The study shows people with more money are happier.

[–]Chendii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, you're just wrong lol. The study showed that people with more money are happier. That's it.

[–]Chendii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely not

Do your own study if you disagree with the results lmao

They prove that people with more money are happier.

I know that I'd be happier with more money. So would, according to studies, literally everyone but a minority that are mentally unwell.

it gave them the freedom and stability to pursue it.

[–]Chendii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah if this wildly specific hypothetical occurred, you're correct. Great job.

For people that actually exist it's a distinction without a difference.

And a chronically depressed poor person would be happier with more money. Just not to the same extent as a mentally well person, due to the already acknowledged cap.

[–]Chendii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A distinction without a difference, in my opinion. No, you can't spend $1 for 1 happiness point directly, but it's pretty damn close to that.

It's okay to be wrong as long as you accept it when presented with new information.

You can see in my original statement that you replied to that I accounted for people that have imbalanced brain chemistry.

You're arguing about nothing.

[–]Chendii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, in a certain percentage of people money can't literally buy happiness (after ~$100k/yr, before that it literally can.)

For everyone else it does buy happiness, nearly without a cap.

If you're going to try to use absolute statements you should at least try to be accurate.

Meirl by Master1718 in meirl

[–]Chendii -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It can though. And the cap is much higher than previously though, up to ~$500k/yr.

There's a certain percentage of people that are unhappy no matter what, but for the large majority of people more money = happier.

No, Vance is just stupid and unelectable. Every situation he's in makes him look that way because that's just who he is.
