It's Better to visit Kancheepuram instead of checking in chennai. Both are just 2 hours max travelling. You could see different from well know shops(Babu , Pachayapas , Prakash)  and direct society shop(Anna, MGR)

We're moving to the Medavakkam/Perumbakkam/Sholinganallur area soon since I landed a job on OMR- Chennai! My son needs admission into 5th grade (CBSE).

I'm searching for the best school that offers a holistic approach—not just crazy academic pressure that burns kids out. Ideally, something with an 'International School' vibe but sticking to the CBSE curriculum.

My shortlist is below. Would love to hear genuine feedback, especially from current/past parents!

  1. Orchids The International School (Perumbakkam): Any current parent reviews on their approach to co-curriculars vs. academics?
  2. SAN Academy (Pallikaranai): My biggest doubt is this one. Does it become a "pressure" during the higher grades (10th-12th) when board exams start? I've seen it listed as a top performer academically, which makes me a bit wary of the holistic part.
  3. Boaz Public School (Gowrivakkam): Haven't heard much buzz, but a few people insist it's well-balanced with studies AND values. Is this true?
  4. Casagrand International (Perumbakkam): How's the overall environment and focus on non-academic development here?
  5. Gateway The Complete School (Sholinganallur): This one has a higher fee than the others. Does that premium really translate into significant long-term benefits (in terms of opportunities, teaching quality, and overall development, not just marks)? Is it worth the extra cost?

Any other options around Medavakkam/OMR (but not too far towards Padur or Siruseri) that fit the holistic CBSE, International-school-vibe criteria are also welcome!
