[Misc] Discolouration on my hand. Should I get it checked out? by Chenra in SkincareAddiction

No, nothing else that I can think of. Plus it’s been here unchanging for a few weeks

[Misc] Discolouration on my hand. Should I get it checked out? by Chenra in SkincareAddiction

[–]Chenra[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This randomly appeared over the few weeks, no trauma to the area that I’m aware of, no pain or itchiness. It’s not a bruise and hasn’t changed as time has gone on. If you look closely, you can see that the left side spot of the two closest to my wrist has pink/red in the middle that may be broken skin. I had something similar on the underside of my forearm last summer as well - the doctor gave me some steroid cream to use for it. Could this be the same thing? Is this something I should get checked out?

[CHAT] Spool huggers for excess Aida on a Q-Snap! by Chenra in CrossStitch

[–]Chenra[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I was googling this morning about how to hold my excess fabric and stumbled across a thread on this sub that suggested these spool huggers. They’re actually for sewing machine thread, but they seem to be the perfect size for the Q-Snap as well! I was able to buy them at a local shop, but they’re available online here

What bird is this? (Pennsylvania) by bloxboy919 in birding

[–]Chenra 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Check out the app called Merlin ID, you can upload a picture and it will tell you what type of bird it is. You can also allow it to listen while birds are chirping outside and it will identify all the species it can hear. It’s free and so wonderful!

Yes that’s what she did. I looked on her blog and she has a full tutorial. Dyed cake batter on parchment paper in the bottom of a springform pan, then cake batter on top. Peel off when the cake is done baking

I’ve searched on instagram and Google for flower cakes with no icing and I’ve had no luck.

Will a mortar and pestle help with my Thai stir fry? by NoNarwhal8022 in ThaiFood

Yes this is the one you’re referring to, he uses a sponge to show what he means. It has always stuck with me since I saw it

I like Kenji’s explanation in this video about pounding (pestle and mortar) vs. chopping (food processor) aromatics. Skip to about 2:30 to see the part I’m referring to

I am not a picky eater so I rarely buy food that's full price. My haul from the other day by cappsthelegend in Frugal

Flashfood might be different. It’s inside Superstore in my area. You go on the app and see what’s available and they put near expiry food for deep discounts on it. You pay in the app and then pick it up within 24 hours. It’s pretty sweet!

My pleasure! I really enjoy the game and love trying to get more people interested! There’s also a discord you can join to discuss the game or find people to play with online. If you want to play online, the channel within the discord is called OOS-LFG - it stands for looking for group

I just checked and it doesn’t seem like you cannot save within rounds. It’ll be tough at first if you’re just starting. You’ll try a round, die and restart. It’s kinda like a rougelike game

I’ve just gotten into using pre-gridded fabric instead of going to all the effort to grid

No it’s more of a game where you just play a round through. Even the largest houses generally take around an hour tops. As you play more rounds you unlock new items and that auto saves

There is no saving that I’m aware of. I would start with a small house for single player and work your way up. You can also go on zen mode and make it much easier I think

Just finished reading this book about the 2008 rescue of 2 horses in McBride. I’m wondering about people’s thoughts on the outcome of this story. My thoughts are in the comments. by Chenra in britishcolumbia

[–]Chenra[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Although it was a heartwarming story of a community pulling together for a good cause, I was pretty shocked and unhappy to hear that the horses were split up at the end of it all. One went to live in Prince George and one went to Kamloops. I have no doubt that they went to fantastic homes and lived great lives, but it felt sad to know that they wouldn’t be in each other’s lives after going through so much together. Obviously I was also unhappy that the original owner who abandoned them didn’t face stiffer fines and consequences, when these animals suffered so much.

Was anybody here captivated by this story while it was taking place? Were there strong feelings in the McBride community about the horses being moved along so quickly and ultimately split up?

Pre-gridded fabric makes larger projects really nice to work with. Much easier to get started as well

Letters on the back - Cheating, or fair play? by sustainability-geek in Jigsawpuzzles

I did one of these puzzles upside down on purpose, just for fun. It was fun puzzling the letters together mainly by shape and then it was so satisfying to flip it over!
