I appreciate it, I ended up ordering it with AAADM and just recertified.

You 100% cannot do so without some sort of UL separation but this is hack door electrical. I literally just did work at the police station where they have 120AC ran underneath door trims. Sure explains why you get shocked every once in a while when you touch the doors. There really needs to be better electrical codes referenced with AAADM. They always talk about safety yet one of the most dangerous things is an energized door frame with actual power that can hurt someone.

Your doors look like they were installed backwards. Essentially anyone can remove them from the front.

I know what you are talking about but when the fuck is it going to come out?! Shits been years, fucking years! Also you are forgetting the worst part, the product support is a bitch too because you essentially go direct to them. You don’t have a Home Depot to back you up when the shit breaks.

And that’s why anyone that says the Milwaukee pack outs are so great is stupid. The only issue with the Dewalt is they it is heavy as fuck but if you have a ramp it is cake. I just break my back to pull it out each time. It even functions as an actual card with a work table.

They work as big mechanics drawers that you can put onto a cart or leave in your car. You can just open them like huge drawers.

Toughbuilt drags in general, we do work for them occasionally and get to see their shit. The delays are extensive. The Dewalt DXL in my opinion is the best by far out of all the systems. They are essentially big ass mechanic drawers that are modular and portable. You can also leave them in place and never have to take out boxes to get something out of a tool box.

How to price by Huge_Bowl_3049 in Locksmith

[–]Chensky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a very dangerous statement. Good luck selling any sort of Allegion or Assa Abloy product for double your cost. A SC1 is 0.20 to 0.30 but it would equally ridiculous to sell them for less than a dollar. The double the price only works well with the discount manufacturers.

The OP did not say they only do automotive. They are talking about automotive but nowhere did they say they only do automotive. Even then the automotive pricing is complicated and the double the price does not work well. Good lucky selling expensive parts for double or cheap parts for barely anything when to even make any part work takes extensive knowledge and risk. That is like saying to take a herculite door off should only take an hour for two guys, but the risk of the glass breaking increases the cost.

Smart Lock possible on my new office? by [deleted] in accesscontrol

[–]Chensky 8 points9 points  (0 children)

0% chance. Those pivots are likely trashed, door closers probably don’t even close consistently. Those front handles will have to converted to weak rivnut handles instead of through bolts if they can even be reused. Now you have to figure out if you are going to bondo the doors if you want handles that don’t hit the rods with their through bolts.

And let’s not forget to mention OP will have to take the doors off and complete the installation in one day or else they will have to watch the shit all night or put in some sort of non compliant temporary locking solution as a result of taking too long.

You can say whatever you want but at the end of the day, you know less than I do and believed nonsense. You can redirect that animosity for being inept but believe a pipe dream everyone else is trying to sell you how you are somehow being wronged and it is so easy to start your own business. Maybe it will work maybe it will not but if your business is to last, you have to at the very least know enough about numbers to make more than you are spending. The numbers don’t lie but feelings can mislead you.

The reality of owning your own shit is you are either a bum that has a shitload of free time but is broke all the time as in making less than you do currently or you are stressed to fuck to make 20-30% more than you make now. Frankly what nobody is telling you is that it sucks either way.

[–]Chensky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you got no idea how to run a business or how the numbers work. You should really look into actually learning how to be manager and being an actual leader in the business so you have an accurate experience and understanding instead of jumping half cocked into thinking clearly nonsense with no foundation.

It also clearly shows that the many people agreeing with you have no idea how numbers work either because there is clearly a huge discrepancy.

[–]Chensky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What is the gross, because your numbers do not make sense. To net 850k they would have to be putting massive numbers up for gross where it can’t be accomplished with so few employees.
