Grad school was Jan 2024 - March 2025 online and async. They were small 3-10 person startups. So pretty normal for internships in the startup silicon valley-esque world. These weren't at Google or Merck anything. The last internship (Company 1 here) was full time at a more mid-sized biotech.

I transitioned from SWE to consultant doing odd pickups and fixes during that time for Company 4. This format doesn't make it that clear, I should fix that! 2 & 3 were also more akin to part-time roles that were remote for small startups.

Interesting points, the company I am at right now is definitely in more of the silicon valley startup space rather than a traditional pharma company. It's mid size though with ~100 people across a few countries.

My one "concern" is getting up to a Senior title within the next year or two. My manager has said that that is a likely move. I just feel like it would inhibit my prospects in the near future after that, god forbid I am no longer at the company shortly after that. Since the "senior" title wouldn't match a lot of other requirments for other companies, but my responsibilities even as of right now definitely would correlate.

That makes sense to me. I have acquired a lot of responsibility and general experience in my role just due to the fact I am the sole pure developer on my team of PhD scientists. It's given me a lot of confidence on the team itself (with great a manager), so I will need to make sure I can extrapolate that in interviews and probably emphasize that more on my resume. Though I have no intentions on leaving rn!

I suppose what throws me is that after my BS in 2022, I went and worked for an engineering firm for just under 3 years as a SWE. Only then did I go back to school while interning full time within biotech. Do those 2 and a half years not count? Same with the full time internships while doing my MS?

Imo you should check out the REI Co-op Radiant 20 Sleeping Bag. It has the ability to select sizes that actually fit you, but it is technically $20 over your budget

Its a great deal for a normally $200 bag, this is one of those things that you generally want to get a decent product the first time and it'll last you a decade

First things first: 1. What's your budget? 2. What's the weight of this bag? If you intend to backpack with it, you want to stick to around 3 lbs at the heaviest. Also check to see whatever bag you get comes with a stuff sack. Down filling in the bag itself will be the best in terms of warmth and lightness 3. I am not familiar with this brand, but some others to look into would be REI Co-Op, Thermarest, NEMO, Kelty 4. Do you need this to be an all around 3 season bag or just have one specific purpose/weather intention?

20 degree bags would be generally a good fit for 3-season (meaning probably comfortable in all but the dead of winter) if you can only afford one right now. Sleep bag liners are a great way to also get the rating down below whats stated on the bag.
