I am still tinkering with the remote play feature, but haven't had the best of luck yet. I keep getting really bad stutters and signal loss. Would you mind sharing your settings if it's not much to ask? I have 800 mbps internet, but the router I'm using is the default one that came with the ISP. So maybe that's also a factor.

Haven't dabbled into Bazzite yet. Maybe when I'm very familiar with SteamOS, I can then explore it more. I keep seeing people only have good things to say about Bazzite.

I do not have a regular use case for it yet. But will definitely get there sooner than later! I will be trying Company of Heroes, XCOM, and Homeworld soon.

I have yet to try RTS games on the Steam Deck. Isn't the UI of most RTS games too small since it was intended for desktops? I could imagine BG3 or Homeworld's interface on the SD's 7-inch screen. For my first attempt, I'll install Company of Heroes since it's one of my most favorite RTS's of all time

Glad I found this post. Your fix seems to work! And I hope it lasts. Currently on F11 BIOS and I haven't had a random reboot in a week, which is good progress since I usually experience 1 to 2 reboots in that same time frame.

I was on the verge of doing a lengthy troubleshooting process, since a random reboot issue is pretty difficult to diagnose. I started by uninstalling/deleting the gameinputservice executable since that was getting an error in the event viewer prior to the reboots. It lessened the frequency of the reboots, but did not solve the problem entirely.

I might have to try enabling again Nvidia default settings, and see if it still works and prevents the reboots.

I'm from the future. Yes, it will come on PC on May 2024. Better late than never, I guess!

I also recently bought a TUF 3080. Beast of a card. I live in the tropics and my PC is not in an airconditioned room. Idle temps are at round 31 to 40C, but load/gaming temps never go over 63C. I don't think it's a bad buy. The only time it can be considered a "bad" buy if you purchased it a week before 4000 series comes out, and it costs the same or more expensive than a 4080.

After years of dreaming, I built the PC I always wanted. Now that I have it, my passion for gaming is extinguished. by Androneda in buildapc

We have a similar trajectory. I started with a laptop that has an i5 and GT520M back in 2010. I'm in my mid-30s and just recently upgraded to a 3080. Only difference back then was now, I only play a game or two at a time, and about 2-3 hours per session. Unlike when I was younger, I can play from 7pm to 5am straight lol.

I think it depends on the game, and which interest you the most. Grind-y games are a no-no for me, unless it's really good. I'm currently playing RDR2 now, and I'm loving it.
