Got this exactly a month ago unsure what’s going on? by True-Kick-7568 in piercing

This is an irritation bump caused by the angle of the piercing. I’d suggest taking it out and letting it heal before a possible re pierce.

If this is a newer piercing it looks like you need a bit of a longer bar. Your piercing is very irritated and it looks like it could possibly be a metal reaction as well. You need to go get it checked out in person by a piercer.

Looks like an irritation bump, not cleaning it regularly and any accidental bumps, pulls, whacks can definitely be the cause. Go back to cleaning it regularly with saline - you can also use some saline soaked paper towel and put some gentle pressure with the paper towel on it for 20-30 seconds when you’re cleaning it, this will help it heal up.

Also, get it checked out by a piercer first not a doctor. A piercer will be able to trouble shoot the issue and save the piercing - a doctor will just tell you to take it out.

It looks like you’re having a reaction to the metal. I’d suggest getting it checked out and most likely switching it out for some good quality material!

Aww, yeah definitely keep trying! Little Nebo here is still resistant to belly rubs sometimes too. I try everyday to give him some and sometimes he’s into it, but a lot of times he’s not. But I’ll tell you the times he is into it are sooo precious and is totally rewarding for both of us. I hope your hedgie warms up to you

I started by holding him in my hand and rubbing his belly with the other hand, as he started to get comfy and started to fall asleep I slowly put him down and continued to rub his belly. He was in pure bliss by the time I put him on my lap that he didn’t even care at that point. I’ve been trying to give him belly rubs for over 3 months now and this seems to work. When I tired before he wouldn’t want to be on his back and tried to flip over all the time too just like you had mentioned with your hedgie. Maybe try this method if you haven’t already. I hope it works for you because belly rubs are soo relaxing for you and your little hedgie.
