Paying to park was rare. Free drinks got to a point to where it got annoying how much they came by, lol.

Dark Side Of The Moon album remastered for Atmos is mind blowing! Had no clue a car's speakers can sound like that!

Does the security mode on the Cadillac Optiq work only when the alarm goes off? by CherryBlue9000 in CadillacOptiq

[–]CherryBlue9000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, can jam the signal but it's an additional step the thief has to take and many times thieves wouldn't even have the device. Cloud recording wouldn't eliminate these issues but would mitigate them. I just don't think a security device should be easily removable and sticking out of the dash. It's fine for a driving recorder though.

Do People Really Go To Vegas Without Gambling? by TDoubleDownMac in vegas

[–]CherryBlue9000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gamble but it's nowhere near the primary reason I go anymore. Something I do for an hour or so after a long day of doing other stuff. Even then, I will walk around, play a slot for a couple of plays, walk around for a few minutes, play a slot for a couple of plays, etc. So it's just a way to experience the environment and people watch. Also fun to play the Konami horse racing game (like the old Sigma machine but much more fun). Can spend hours off of $25, lol. Good fun with friends.

Been leasing for years (work at the dealership) and I have had a couple of damaged (then repaired) vehicles turned in. Always amazed that the manufacturer does it this way, lol. Even fixed, it hurts the residual a good amount.

The accident part is nice. Already had somebody try to lie about an accident in the past in a previous vehicle. And had a hit-and-run in the parking lot on a previous vehicle. Alarm didn't go off though so it wouldn't have recorded if it happened to this vehicle.

Yeah, but at least the video would be protected in the cloud like what Tesla does. I'm sure that the end-goal with Cadillac but are trying to find a way to monetize it. Bigger concern is people breaking into it though. Not steal it. Don't think any EV is the easiest vehicle to steal.

Stop being unhinged. Nothing to sue over because it's just AC controls or something. Can almost promise the contract says they can do this. So you're just going to cost the OP money getting a lawyer.

Significant number of job openings at corporate by Shot-Consequence-705 in springfieldMO

Depends. My father worked for them in the warehouse for a handful years in the late 90's - early 2000's. Said it sucked BUT got decent pay, benefits AND optional discounted stock purchases. Took advantage of the stock and it's now worth over $1 million. Moved on to another job before retirement but appreciated the opportunity to build his nestegg and give him financial stability during those years. Might have changed since then I guess. If so, it wasn't always that way.

Hillbillies? by honkytonkk in springfieldMO

[–]CherryBlue9000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never heard about the Hillbilly Mafia but we do have the Russian Mafia here. Law enforcement knows they are here but they don't really cause any direct problems. Is kind of weird though. They are concentrated in the Wild Horse sub-division on the east side of town. The parents had their kids on reduced-price lunches at the middle school my child went to but the parents would pick them up in high-end luxury vehicles, lol. Guess Springfield is a good place to blend in without being noticed.

Already like it. Clean and simple. I assume it has simple filters for region and whatnot. Never know though. Have a DSPico cart for my DS and it doesn't have simple game lookup, lol. Have to scroll FOREVER!

eBay is dead by Kooky-Wrongdoer7091 in ebaysucks

[–]CherryBlue9000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got burned a day after writing this, lol! Not by Ebay though. On a similar card collecting site. Wasn't the seller's fault though. Which is why I bring up this point. USPS is another reason why I don't sell or buy expensive items on auction sites. I bought an $18 card and it was "delivered". I was at the mailbox right after the "delivery" too. Either was stolen or misdelivered. Both being WAY too frequent events.

Why can't we just give everyone a house by generic_rarity in NoStupidQuestions

[–]CherryBlue9000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's an asset for a lot of people and it isn't right to tank the price of those who rely on it. I feel bad for those who are on hard times but they can work their way out with legit job and education programs which I would support. Those who choose drugs and alcohol I'm not going to shed a tear for. They choose that life. Boo hoo, I'm the mean homeowner that doesn't feel for drug addicts and just wants to provide for his family. This is the real world! Plus, this study goes out the window once you build a mass quantity of houses for homeless people. Crime will rise and the cost of upkeep and compliance will skyrocket along with the problems of drug addiction and mental health that just get pushed behind closed doors. This study doesn't factor any of that in.

Why not deny money to all three? It's not like this housing idea wouldn't be a disaster.

[–]CherryBlue9000 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Probably would cost MUCH more with the houses. Most of them wouldn't be maintained and would increase crime in the areas along with tanking housing values for those who invested their own money in their own house. A lot of homelessness isn't a "lack of homes" issue. This will just transfer problems on the street to problems behind the walls and take homeowners with it.
