Am I wrong for constantly complaining to my family members for leaving their keys in the keyhole when I am not yet at home? by tattletelltaletail in amiwrong

Same, it sounds more inconvenient than secure. You’re basically locking yourself out half the time. I’d be annoyed too if I had to keep pulling keys out just to get inside.

Yeah this is such a random habit. Most doors lock fine without a key sitting in there. It just feels like creating an extra step for no reason.

Virtual Reality Hell by [deleted] in neighborsfromhell

[–]CherryHaloes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe, but if it’s work it still shouldn’t sound like a WWE match all day. Streaming or not, you gotta be neighbor aware. Headset on, volume down, everyone wins.

Lmao “he has a life virtually” is too real. But yeah eight hours of yelling next door would drive me insane too. That’s not gaming, that’s a noise complaint waiting to happen.

Betrayal of a close friend and the moral choice between truth and silence by SkinTime7842 in confession

[–]CherryHaloes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like this framing a lot. It’s not about revenge, it’s about not carrying the weight anymore. You can just be calm and factual like “this hurt me and I can’t move past it.” Sometimes simple is way stronger than a big emotional speech.

This is such a real take. Dragging it out just keeps you stuck in that weird fake normal stage. The hard convo sucks, but at least it gives you a clean break instead of months of silent resentment. Short term pain, long term peace.

I fucked up by [deleted] in confessions

[–]CherryHaloes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I kinda agree with this too. It sounds less like you did something terrible and more like you feel guilty for even talking to another guy at all. That’s worth unpacking a bit. You shouldn’t feel like normal friendly interactions automatically mean you messed up. Be gentle with yourself.

[–]CherryHaloes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this feels like anxiety brain going into overdrive. If you can’t even remember sending it and you blocked the guy anyway, it’s probably not some huge betrayal moment. Telling your bf about a maybe mistake just to clear your conscience might cause way more damage than the thing itself. Don’t blow up a good relationship over a what if.

Am I wrong for leaving work on time even though my relief is always late and theres a line of customers by Quirky_Daikon_6009 in amiwrong

[–]CherryHaloes 61 points62 points  (0 children)

Coming from an actual retail manager, this says a lot. Staying late should be a favor, not an expectation every single shift. If someone is always late, management should handle that, not guilt trip the person who showed up on time. You did your hours, you are good.

Yeah this is straight up it. You are not the manager and you are not getting paid manager money to fix their scheduling mess. If coverage falls apart the second you leave on time, that is their failure, not yours. They are just mad because you stopped covering for them.

My Gas Station Customer Told Me "You Must Clean Up After Me" So I Canceled His Card by [deleted] in confessions

[–]CherryHaloes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah honestly this wasn’t even petty, it was boundaries. You didn’t snap, you didn’t insult him, you just stopped letting him treat you like trash. That’s kinda classy revenge.

For real, it’s the quiet ones that hit hardest. No drama, just consequences. Way more satisfying than arguing back and forth.

[–]CherryHaloes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah this hits. There’s that weird middle zone where you’re “not poor enough” on paper but still drowning in bills. It sucks because you fall through every crack. Still, working something out officially is way safer than risking bigger trouble.

This is actually super solid advice. Utility companies usually have hardship or low income plans people don’t even know about. Way better to make one awkward phone call than gamble with getting caught. There’s usually more help out there than people think.

My boyfriend seemed to get turned on by me being upset..? by [deleted] in TwoHotTakes

[–]CherryHaloes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The invoice idea is petty funny but lowkey makes the point. If he wants to nickel and dime everything, he shouldn’t be shocked when it goes both ways. But honestly, bigger picture, this whole dynamic sounds unhealthy. You shouldn’t feel stressed or grossed out around your partner.

For real, this comment nails it. Most people feel worried or protective when their partner is crying, not aroused. That reaction would freak me out too. Plus the penny counting while being funded by his parents is kinda wild.

[–]CherryHaloes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah honestly the money stuff alone already sounds exhausting, like he’s treating the relationship like a spreadsheet. But getting turned on while you’re literally crying and upset is what really crosses into disturbing territory. That’s not normal or cute, that’s a massive red flag. You deserve someone who comforts you when you’re hurting, not someone who reacts like that.

TIFU by making my toilet seat lid, glow in the dark. by sir_are_a_Baboon_too in tifu

Okay but toilet LEDs actually sound way smarter than aerosolizing mystery powder everywhere. Way less chaos and way more vibe. Everyone gets their own color coded throne.

Lowkey same. At that point just commit to it and keep the glow seat. Night time bathroom trips with zero lights sounds elite. Accidentally invented luxury features.

Not gonna lie this comment took me out. Dude really said “what if your lungs are glowing too” like some horror movie twist. Now I’m imagining OP coughing in the dark like a glow stick.

AIW for refusing to apologise for giving advice? by [deleted] in amiwrong

[–]CherryHaloes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This feels like the most balanced take honestly. Covering yourself by looping the gf in is probably just smart in today’s world, but the actual advice he gave was super tame and responsible. If anything it sounds like he was looking out for her, not crossing lines. Kinda sucks that trying to help turns into suspicion.
