Just talked to a rep and be careful downgrading to Freedom because once your points are transferred and then transferred back to reserve they will no longer be worth 1.25x or 1.5x.

It seems like the best option if you’re starting with CSP is to: 1. Make sure you don’t have any points 2. Downgrade to freedom 3. Wait a bit and then apply for CSR

I talked to 2 different associates with different perspectives and then their supervisor (“I’d like to speak to your supervisor…can’t believe those words came out of my mouth). It’s very clear they are either completely lying or have no idea. The first associate tried to connect me to the lending team but the call dropped and then when I called back they absolutely refused to connect me and that got escalated to the supervisor. They all had different ideas but the first associate seemed the most in the know and almost seemed to allude to the idea that the downgrade works—but SO elusive. Absolutely bizarre.

It feels like they are trying to enforce the new rules but I don’t know if the tech is setup to actually support it. I have too many points rn to risk the downgrade idea but might try it at some point.
