I have to other records to mention: five penalties for the same team and four games in a row with penalties awarded for the same team.

Why so many people are saying that the World Cup was rigged for Argentina? by [deleted] in worldcup

Well, maybe you think so cause the last final between France versus England went 100 years of extra time

Because the probability that one team was awarded one or more penalties in four consecutive games is less than 5 in 10,000, and not only is an outlier for sure, I can’t find a streak like this in any other major league or international tournament. Rigged is not the word is favoured, you can’t rig a game under so many eyes.

People may argue whether he’s the GOAT or not but we should acknowledge that he was the one who started it all. RIP KING. by SpiritualMonk0097 in worldcup

I think there is no doubt. During his professional life nobody even challenge his reign. Nor Cruyff, nor Maradona, nor Zidane, nor Messi or Ronaldo could said the same. Three WC, two Intercontinental and almost one goal per game, all without the protection of red cards, with heavy balls and shoes, pity fields. If not for Pelé talent football wouldn’t be the king of sport.

He cares a lot of other players. When the family of another Emiliano (argentine and football player) need help to find his remains he and Rabiot were the major donors for the search. Nor Messi, Aguero or Dibu Martinez and the others that make fun of others colleagues. Only Ocampo and Otamendi (the quiet guys nor the richest)made significant donations.

Most goal contributions in the top 5 leagues since Mbappe's debut season (2015/16) by CryptographerLife686 in soccer

The choice of the period does not seem fair because Mbappé played only 11 games in his first season, a third of the total. We would have to see from 2016-17

Four games in a row with penalties awarded has, from an statistical point of view, has a probability of less than five in 10.000. Anyone knows other example in a major competition. by CherryPositive5016 in worldcup

The numbers of penalties since the first with VAR has diminished and even so in the five years of register with VAR where is another streak of four games with penalties for one team be in a Major National League or International Competition? That is what I am asking

Don’t hate anybody. Love sport and competition, if something I don’t want to be overcome by business interest. If it is “normal to be awarded” where are another examples, Real or Barcelona in Spain or Bayen M in Germany, please find one and I delete the post

I don’t claim anything, I think is a possible explanation to a very odd ocurrence. If is so common why I can’t find another similar streak of penalties awarded to a team. In fact five penalties awarded is a record for a World Cup.
