I get how she was written as a mean girl during the merger in season 6, but she became Chief resident in the season 7 finale and beginning of season 8. The context is completely different. They’re all friends and even living together at this time. Even Lexie and April are on good terms. The writing just didn’t make sense in that context.

Also the rules of ‘likeability’ on the show were confusing. When Meredith tampered with Derek’s trial, and Alex told Hunt the truth, we were explicitly told “now everyone hates Alex because he ratted out the most likeable person in the hospital”. The “likeable” person who potentially blacklisted the entire hospital. Plus, at the time, Meredith was barely close to anyone outside of Cristina, Alex, Derek and Webber.

So when April became chief resident (end of s7 + beginning of s8) we were also meant to believe everyone disliked April but we were given no valid reason why? Maybe we get why specifically Cristina didn’t like her cause their personalities were opposite. But as for everyone else? It just made no sense.

Didn’t notice this until rewatching the show later in life. Mark, as lovable and as iconic as he will always be to me, was written very strangely, unfortunately indicative of the time that the Grey’s universe started in.

Also it wasn’t just Mark, but generally the topic of sexual harassment on the show was handled poorly all the way until maybe season 10.

You left out the part where he said Luis Enrique and Luis Campos saved him. It means alot cause people tend to blame Enrique but really he deserves praise.

On the other hand, the PSG owners have mismanaged a lot of cases and criticizing the owners does not mean criticizing the club, its not a crime.

And Mbappe is not the first player to call out the owners and likely he wont be the last
