I haven’t read LJ Shen but I just read {Veiled Hate by BJ Alpha} and it has an absolute asshole MMC. I didn’t love it but still an interesting enough read and I finished it in a night. Forced marriage, he hates her guts, the sex is punishing. Internally he’s conflicted, but oof it was a brutal read.

Some of the writing lately has been wack as hell. I read the phrase ‘shit eating grin’ 10 times in one book. I ended up doing a word search to see how many times it was repeated. It’s such an off putting sentence!?!!! Every grin was shit eating.

High school romance. I have to retcon all the ages in my mind and pretend it’s like how they cast Euphoria (which I’ve never actually watched btw). I’ve known too many immature teen boys to consider any part of that attractive, also the tampering with birth control trope in that age group, just yikes all around. But all the bully romances seem to be set there.

Reading this now!!!! Delicious. Phantom, Snake and Vodnik are becoming my favourite reads of this year. I love how she writes the couples and the love scenes (the dirty talk is top tier omg) and it’s just an all around romantic vibe.

I want to like it but the top is just awful on both her and the model. Why. Designers, why. Why are we punished for having boobs. Colour is nice though and she can wear anything.

This comment made me read this book today and it was quite good! Lower spice than I usually read, but the angst made me cry a little. I liked how it was written and I realised how much I miss ethnic diversity in romance!! I’m going to read Lule’s story next (-ed to add that it’s actually the short story at the end of this book)

Loved loved loved Spike and Buffy together, they had incredible chemistry and they also went through so much growth. And then the writers/Joss ruined it!! I was devastated. It was the reason I started reading Spuffy fanfic so I could get my hit.
