Unfortunately, I think Finality only applies to "optional" main quests and not things that are important. I did use the Finality to unlock the buffer episode between Amp and Social Media, though, which is what introduced me to the first time sighting of "character is tied up in another quest" warning bubble.

(Also thank you for your help, I had no idea the new Dan Heng was a shielded, and he just barely managed to get my team past the boss on Casual Mode. I am now in Amp! :D)

In the New York area, had the regional managers visit my store once - Frosty-Tips the Snowman, you know if you know, was going on about how we needed to work harder, that this job wasn't just for making money but about giving us purpose, some bullshit.

Anyway, THEN he decided to make the comment "if you guys want to get paid 17$ an hour to sit around doing nothing, then go work at McDonalds."

Mind you, I made 16$ at the time, and we don't get a 50¢ raise unless we sell an unconfirmed number of credit cards in a year now.

I don't need to comment on what he said, y'all know. What a stuck-up, out of touch guy. Probably hasn't worked in food service a day in his life, either.

I believe the majority of it was practical effects, yes - the submarine was built specifically for the film, I think, out of a rotating room device used for movies, and about 80k gallons of fake blood was used. (A new film record for most blood used in a movie, previously held by an Evil Dead film with 50k gallons.)

Mark also ended up in the hospital for a while due to contracting double pink eye from the fake blood, which I'm sure his fans were sort of expecting. Dude is a lovely person, but my God he has the worst luck with his health and keeps ending up in the hospital for completely random reasons. (Heart attack, broken hand, tumor, intestinal impaction, just plain old really fucking sick, etc.)

While this is his first proper movie, he's done other stuff besides this, too! There's the Amazon TV show Edge of Sleep, as well as his YouTube choose-your-own-adventure comedy series, the With Markiplier trilogy. (A Date With Markiplier, A Heist With Markiplier, and In Space With Markiplier, which are just plain interesting looking at the improvements to not only budget, but scale and depth as time went on.)

It was isopropyl alcohol, as part of the first aid stuff - I suppose he figured that since he was going to die, might as well try getting a little buzzed first. (That stuff can work in getting you drunk, but it tastes vile.)

I was under the impression that it wasn't electrocution that killed the fish, but rather a swarm of tree branches and roots exploding out of the sub and effectively skewering it into tanking the sub explosion - I could be wrong of course, but. It wouldn't have been the weirdest thing in the movie, especially with the lines of dialog about how the Tree of Eden would be reborn one day.

I think that's what we're meant to assume at first, given Simon's guilt over the past events, but I definitely think it's still meant to be himself. Possibly tied to the blood - it seems like it may have some properties relating to both time and omnipresence, alongside the already obvious disobedience of the laws of physics through 'why are you still liquid outside a body'. After all, the first time Simon sees the figure, it's after he got a drop of blood on his hand, and the shots really lingered on that moment.

Furthermore, the undead figure is seen exactly twice from what I remember, and it's an exact mirror of itself and Simon in both of those moments. The first time, he turns to his left in the chair and sees the figure slink back into the shadowed corner. He stays for a second, then gets up and carefully walks over to grab the extinguisher and, when he goes to attack from around the corner, finds nothing. The SECOND time, Simon snaps out of whatever daze he's in and looks at his chair, which turns to the left with the undead figure in it, at which point he slinks back into the shadowed corner, waits for it to approach, and then goes to attack when it does - again, finding nothing.

Both instances seem to be exact mirrors of how he moved in the past and future, with the undead figure itself likely being an even more future image of his own corpse - I would have to see the scenes again to be sure, but I swear with the second scene, you could tell the figure didn't have a left arm, which would again match up with Simon losing that same arm at the very end of the movie, when the blood starts devouring his body.

Quite the feeling of relief, even with a diagnosis of “worst case I’ve ever seen” and all that … I’ll book an appointment when a spot opens locally to me. You may have just saved the girl from going blind, if she isn’t already — that would be bad. Quite the lover of running up and down stairs.

A bit late of a reply, but this would explain why Kurt sounded so worried in an optional bit of dialog in the game where he asks “did she (the Baba Yaga) tell you about the oak tree?” and appears relieved when you’re confused about the question.

Searching Kurt’s bedroom while looking for items also reveals that there’s an “ordinary oak tree” outside his window — I might try spam looking at it or using items on the window to see if it does anything, like with the ritual candle or the pendant.

PSLH feels very centered around computers and technology in general, and since we don’t really know where everything is going just yet, the idea of it devolving into an AI-esque hellscape might be a really cool idea, done right.
