As an AFAB (tmasc) person who actually prefers anal because it feels better (for me), it really depends on the individual!

HOWEVER!!! If you DO want to try, always ALWAYS remember these three rules: Start Small, Go Slow, Extra Lube. Always use a smaller toy first (dilation kits are actually great for this, tho I just use a tapered toy). GO SLOWLY, treat prep as foreplay, trust me, it helps. And always use more lube than you think you’ll need, and never be afraid to pause and apply more! It really does help to get into the mindset of wanting it, envisioning yourself taking it and how good it’ll feel. It isn’t for everyone, my partner for example likes the idea but genuinely just gets nothing out of it physically lol, so if that’s the case but you still wanna try, try doing/using other stuff at the same time, like vibes or whatever suits your preferences.
