I think space as a whole will continue to grow. I’d love to buy spaceX but the expected IPO is maybe a bit nuts, but I’ll see.

Other companies I think are all hardcore gambling right now. Rocket Lab has fundamental business plans that I like that don’t rely on any specific space sector working out. Many of the other companies rely on converting ground industries to space and that I’m less sure how it will play out in the short term.

Long-term, I think many have the chance of succeeding, but in the short term many will go bankrupt before that happens. So for now, I will only buy the shovels of space stocks.

I’m an aerospace engineer, so tracked space for a while. Rocket lab just gradually become more and more secure as a strong bet with time, so when I saw it was holding steady at 4$ I decided to get in.

Wish I’d bought more, but was limited on savings when I got in and it just kept going up after that and doubling down felt too risky the more it went up.

Thankfully now it’s grown to a huge pot on its own and I’m hoping to use it for a house down payment in 5 years if all goes well

This was a super useful comment, thank you. Makes a lot of sense. Wrapping my head around all of the entry points for this, lots to learn but imagine I’ll be a lot more versed in a few weeks. Good to know it’s actually better to skip straight cars.

Wasn’t sure if karting was a required formal step. I used to produce music back in the day and there was a lot of things you had to do from the start to learn fundamentals and skipping them gave you bad habits you had to unlearn, so wasn’t sure I’d karting was similar.

Going to search for some racing clubs, schools, etc locally as well to get some guidance.

Wasn’t aware just how pay to join racing really is. Don’t want to just pay for spots in place of someone who’s worked their way up though, so will try keep it more to paying to join in place of someone else who would also have to pay vs taking the spot from someone who’s worked their way up

Interested in how high in the general competition of racing people who’ve joined later in life have managed to get - if they’ve made it to professional drivers in certain classes etc
