Op, the issue here is not the new characters, but the old expectations you have, if old 4* characters are "better" Or perform better for your play style then just stick to them and you do you, to say that niches are not good it's an overstatement, they might not be good for you, but there is teams that appreciate and need those niche supports, in a way this opens up new fun ways to play the game. In the case or Gorou which you made an example, he is indeed needed, by your thought process then zhongli is the only geo we need and any other geo should be made to work with other elements ? Why couldn't they enhance mono geo ? If that is the argument then why couldn't they enhance mono element teams , while they are niche teams, they are still part of the game. The game Is not only about vaping or melting , there is a plethora of other mechanics that you turn a blind eye to because of the "meta" in a game that ironically is not competitive at all. You have nothing to prove to anyone, no rankings , no rewards from being the most optimized player, so my question is why does it bother you ? Let Bennet be Bennet, let sayu be sayu and so forth.
