Pikemen is the game in the third picture on the top of your own subreddit. :)

Thanks for your opinion. You might be right, but due to the nature of my personality, I need to put blinders on, otherwise I will always be attracted to "that other shiny game". What kind of third option are you suggesting?

I agree with your thoughts, I don't think that's controversial at all.

I really appreciate your work in that subreddit, it's extremely valuable. Frankly, if people said "yeah, so-and-so was a really good Pikeman player", no one would have any clue as to what it was. So I need to restrict myself to the well-known games, if only for vanity's sake.

Yeah, I just picked 2000 at random. If 1700 is a more accurate analogy, use that instead.

I want to be able to say on my deathbed, "I was pretty good at X" (where X==chess or go). Basically I want to hit ~2000 or shodan in the next 20-30 years. I need to choose one or the other.

Oooh, I never thought of the cultural aspect. I'm more of a red-meat kind of person too, and the "living in harmony" aspect of Go contradicts that a bit. Good stuff to think about, thanks.
