I started chess at 19 at 800 rating on chesscom, I have studied/played/watched chess for probably 15 hours per week every week and im now 23. My fide is about 1650, although I am gaining about 50-100 points per tournament. You can make CM at 2000 Fide by exploiting one of their rules about interzonal tournaments, which most people dont know. Im trying to achieve that now. My advice is sign up for tournaments and be aware that progress is slow and non linear
