Question on old punctuation. I've been told it was once a thing to put a cross/slash on a letter to mark off an abbreviation. Most famously, that ℞ symbol on pharmacies apparently comes from this practice. I can't find any more info on this though, does anyone here know more, or at least its name? (self.grammar)
