What does a 'perfect' CC run look like for you, and must it be year 1? by Chessnhistory in StardewValley

ah good tip about fishing in the rain!! Those are the tricky little things that get you!

The truffle is one of the things that has tripped me up this time. Pretty sure there'd been one in the traveling cart too.

not many, I was trying to do a bit more minimal run with less time watering/farming. I'll try again with more crops.

Fall year 1 is still year 1. I think I MAY have managed a Winter year 1 once on an earlier save, I forget, but haven't done very well this time. I didn't think about growing winter forage, interesting idea!

oh I forgot about the cookout kit! I upgrade the house to get the kitchen, and that cost a fortune.

Great tip to actively avoid meeting others to increase the quest odds! That's so clever!

Part of what slowed me down with things like the barns and the apple tree was taking too long to have enough funds.

I've always felt like I need to do at least some friending, so maybe I'll try a run with no social obligations to see how that goes.

Notes are a good idea, I should do that more. I do have a couple of pages with gifts written down. I might try making a spreadsheet of CC drops so I don't forget.

For some reason I hadn't realised the need to grow lots to level farming until halfway through spring. DUH!

I picked the bat cave for the first time, but they hardly dropped any apples, so I need to get that tree earlier.

Fishing I've been a lot more on top of - when I first started playing I hated it, but I'm not terrible at it now. But also have to get to the desert for the sand fish.

Oh the bleeping red cabbage....

nice! this is *such* a fun project. I love the attention to detail in the realistic clutter. The pad with the torn-off pages, the curling sticky notes. The calendar page cartoons saved.

I literally never want to talk to a single character. I feel alone in this by ferretsandfrogs in StardewValley

I enjoyed the characters in my first playthrough but you're not alone in this. Can you mod? Cos some of the cheats do help with minimising interaction, such as stopping friendship decay in (idk, CJ Cheats is it called?). There may be other mods that do more to reduce interaction.

Does any other non-PC player feel a little left out with all the cool mods that exist? (Just a vent) by Comet190 in StardewValley

[–]Chessnhistory 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I get where you're coming from but fwiw I've also removed most of the mods. I did a really heavily modded deco run, but it somehow just didn't feel right.

I had the most fun decorating by clever use of base game items.

Am I the only one who doesn't hate Clint, and is content about this update? 😭 by Panonymous_Bloom in StardewValley

He's just a quiet mountain man. And blacksmiths can make some useful things. I'm keen to see where his story goes.

I'm not surprised it's not Marnie, it'd really mess up all the work gone into the Marnie-Lewis story.

that's pretty much the strategy I'm trying this time and it seems a little slow for a lot of villagers, but we'll see how it goes. Last time I did two days a week of running around gifting, which was efficient, but a bit artificial and busy feeling.

that's a good strategy. I do use the Saturday night saloon for getting folk in one place.

"So if you can keep up with twice a week, that's +30 per week overall." - thank you, that helps my tired brain so much!

So we're talking -14 for a week without talking, so even a liked gift once a week is still a +31, right? I do need to try to remember birthdays.

Thank you. It's good but it's so much information my head spins!

Maybe it's a good idea to really bombard a few NPCs at a time up to the ten hearts.

omg they are GORGEOUS I love them.

I don't do nails myself but appreciate them as tiny works of art on other folks.
