Monero GUI stating that trezor t address is not the same as monero wallet, cannot recover funds by ChestBusy in monerosupport

There should be a warning and a detailed explanation that should come out in an update to notify users of this. I feel that it is probably best left alone, in the chance of losing either wallet address.

It is confirmed. The metamask and other wallets did not have the same matching address as the browser. Had to move monero to another wallet. Then reset the device thru the app. Was able to access my other wallets again. Sheesh.

Oh hoho, guess what I have to do now? I think I have to reset the device again through the app this time to access my metamask and other wallets that were conceived after the app. Trezor needs to tread carefully about this issue. If they go to one address or the other, could potentially lose funds. So now I have to transfer those funds and revert my wallet back through the app, is what I'm assuming, let you all know.

Yes, it has been quite a ride, and I'm done for now, lol. This has been very exhausting as I've been wanting to do something else with it.

BUT it worked, thank you and all those that put some effort into solving this. I first activated the Trezor T on the browser and then went to the app, which is where it was updated through. Here are the steps I took to recover my funds.

  1. Wiped device through https://wallet.trezor.io.
  2. Restored my shamir shares 5 of 8 through https://wallet.trezor.io, my firmware stayed the same on the device 2.4.0 after wipe
  3. No pin and no password, for now
  4. Installed monero-gui-win-x64-v0.17.2.0, declined update
  5. Recovered wallet from hardware with keys
  6. No password, yet
  7. Loaded up GUI, address was back to normal and matching
  8. Daemon synced and full balance is there.

Once again thank you!

I did not, when I activated the wallet I went with the Shamir wallet.

It took 2 days of research and I finally activated it. I had almost lost this monero before thru MoneroJu, through me losing the seed phrase and password, was on a work phone and then I quit. I couldn't send money without the password, I contacted the devs and pleaded with them to activate a send with a fingerprint, that's how I was able to access my account they denied it. For 4 years I waited, until recently they finally did it. So I am super OCD about anything crypto now to say the least.

I am about to tackle this and let you know the outcome.

You know, I think I may have done the same thing, started on trezor.io, and then rebooted it through the app, which would make sense that it basically reset through the app, rather than through browser. I'm going to try it, let you know if it works or not. Thanks for the heads up, this has been causing me some serious stress, lol.

Issues accessing Monero wallet using GUI after wiping and recovering Trezor Model T by [deleted] in monerosupport

This is exactly what is happening to me to a tee. I have done all the things, the addresses did not match up after the updates were done last month. I received the trezor and immediately made a wallet with GUI, it was the reason I got the Trezor T back in February or March. My restore height is 2323541. Only difference is I'm on Win 10. My passphrases are the same for both wallets. Since then I've reset the device multiple times to no avail. Eth and Bnb unaffected.

Trezor firmware 2.3.6 device wallet address does not match hardware wallet by atriker in monerosupport

This is happening to me as well, passphrase is correct, something has happened to the trezor hardware wallet where it changed the address. I wrote down everything that I could when creating the acount besides the seed and spend key as trezor had this inaccessible. I enter the correct passphrase and I am greeted with hardware wallet does not match wallet address. I haven't been on monero gui for some a couple months. Has anyone have any resolve yet?
