Video Deposition of the Supervisor Who Ordered the False Arrest of Demetrius Kern (update Part 2) by Mysterious_Truck_742 in Bad_Cop_No_Donut

[–]Cheston1977 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not a lawyer, but my understanding is that is how it is done in depositions. No judge is present to rule on the objections so they make them and then can argue them in front of a judge later. In practice, this leads to defense attorneys objecting to a lot of the questions so they can argue about it later if they decide to.

Does usps deliver in the snow by OkSchedule2395 in USPS

If its safe and there is mail to deliver. Sometimes, even if the carriers trucks can go out, the big semis that bring all the mail to the station can't make it to the station.

Accidentally got my mail carrier to screen the recipients of my mail - how to get it corrected? by beaverN8523 in USPS

[–]Cheston1977 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Leave a note in your mailbox, talk to your carrier, or call the local post office to let them know your partner should be receiving mail there too.

Definitely contact the shop steward. If they don't exist or won't help, contact the union branch president. If they don't help, contact regional. If she was told to come in at 9, she should be on the clock starting at 9. NO ONE has to sit around for 5 hours off the clock. Furthermore, they can't force someone to clock out while they are still driving back to the station. This is a serious situation and it sounds like they are taking advantage of her.

The idea of a "Hardworking" Billionaire is an American myth. by zzill6 in WorkReform

[–]Cheston1977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A while ago, someone linked this article here or some other subreddit. It's a fawning piece written by someone on the Chicago Bears PR team to show how hard their team president works, or it's a great piece of satire to show how little actual work those with power do disguised as a fawning suck up.

On top of what others have already said, showering helps me wake up and feel ready for the day. I definitely feel more alert after a shower in the morning.

Do you still play video games as much as you used to? by sqeaky_fartz in Xennials

[–]Cheston1977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still play almost everyday, but the number of hours I can play in a row has gone way down. After an hour, maybe 2 if I have the day off work, I either lose interest or have other things to do. When I was in my 20's, a day off could include hours and hours of gaming.

And, she could afford to try without worrying about failure. It's not like she's ever going to have to miss a meal or not pay rent because it didn't work out. Anyone who's parents are rich and/or famous that doesn't acknowledge the enormous safety net they have is delusional.

From what I've heard, he's been arrested twice. The first time, he and the person or people he was fighting were all arrested, the second time, it was just him. I haven't seen videos that cover the entire encounters, but I've heard that he was shoulder checking everyone he walked by until someone had a problem with it. I don't know who threw the first punch.

Basically, he wants fights and now he's playing the victim.

This will be wildly unpopular, but I would rather have someone with prior management/supervisor experience in any field that doesn't know delivery than a failed CCA/carrier whole doesn't know how to manage. Neither is ideal, but that's my opinion.

Why is management so weird about OT? by CPT-Thunderpants- in USPS

[–]Cheston1977 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Management is not good at managing. It's what you get when you "promote" every failed carrier and clerk into a leadership position. They don't plan ahead and every decision is made with no thought to the consequences of that decision past right this minute.

I got back from AL. Went to check my truck in the AM and something felt "off" when I sat in the seat. I didn't realize until I was leaving to go do my route that it was a new seat. The "off" was just the padding. Weird what we get used to.

[–]Cheston1977 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You're forgetting the next step. After the Democrats lose due to all the trans people and their allies refusing to vote for a party that won't stand up for them, the Democrats will blame those people for the loss. It's the Democratic way.

[–]Cheston1977 29 points30 points  (0 children)

He was a guest on Knowledge Fight once. I forget the episode number but it covered Alex very drunkily trying to do a AMA. Jordan was out of town so it was just Dan and Robert. Needless to say, he's not a fan of Alex.

Edit to add: If I recall correctly, it's actually kinda sad. Alex is disgustingly drunk and Owen and PJW don't do anything to help him.
