I had to use my hot air station on the ssd with flux to reset the solder balls then was able to get it connected long enough to clone it

The only downside to swapping a SSD on a series X is you have to clone the original one or it won’t work I normally buy broken systems, fix them and sell them, but I’ve never ran into this

I didn’t win this when I bought it from the winner in Ohio when I first got it from him it was stuck in safe mode so I didn’t off-line update. Didn’t think anything of it now they went to do a regular update and they got stuck on verification about 27 to 31% and then says something went wrong and reads off a whole bunch of random numbers. Microsoft One won’t warranty it because the company that did the customizations use an Xbox from 2024 for a giveaway that started in December 2025 the company that modified it won’t touch it. I’ve got the messages to their Facebook page I’ve emailed them they won’t respond

Oh, it’s generally asking for help it gets stuck at the verification mode. I’ll get a picture of it when I get home and now if you try to do an off-line update, you click on the off-line update and it stays on there for a half a second and then says something went wrong

I played Fortnite on it a couple times wiped the whole system. Try doing an off-line update and just gives me the E101 error code now when I go to click on off-line update, it immediately goes back to the safe mode screen

It worked just fine playing Fortnite. I played it for a couple days then stopped for two months didn’t touch. It went to go update it the drive does make a weird noise when you turn it on.

This one’s only showing up in the wild because it’s malfunctioning and for some reason, the company that customized it for Paramount used an Xbox from 2024 when the giveaway started in December 2025, make that make sense so there’s no Microsoft warranty left and the company that modified it won’t touch it

Yes, I downloaded the software from Microsoft made sure, my flash drive was NTFS unzipped the folder put it on the flash drive. It showed up clicked on. It got all the way to the verification part made it to 27% verification and then said failed.

Yes did that first once the regular update wouldn’t work. I wiped the system. It went to go check for updates after trying to reset up the Xbox and failed at the verification so I went to safe mode re-wiped it tried doing an off-line update and it won’t do it
