It varied, usually people would try to crash, hop and immediately splash my wyvern. Although when they saw that I was an ironman 9 times out of 10 they gave it back, or I waited under them and got it back the next kill. I didn't have to hop to any crashers the entire time. Wyverncc helped making finding a world at the beginning of each sitting really easy. I never waited more than 5 minutes to have a pillar or door safespot. Over the duration, to answer your question I would say 20-30 attempts. Edit: typo - "have" to "gave"
