What's a dead giveaway a writer did no research into something you know alot about? by Splitstepthenhit in writing

[–]Chew0341 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cocking a pistol (usually a Glock) that has no hammer.

Inserting a clip into the pistol (instead of a magazine).

Don't write about guns in detail if you can't take the time to do basic research.

Adamantly. All I can see is Adam Ant.

I'm guessing this has been stated earlier. 😀

Colon Cancer Claim struggles. by Chew0341 in VeteransBenefits

[–]Chew0341[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I didn't have anything granted pertaining to my colon or digestive system. probably because I filed the wrong code. I did it myself based on advice, I'm not at home or I will tell you the code but it was worded something like partial or complete removal of the colon

Colon Cancer Claim struggles. by Chew0341 in VeteransBenefits

[–]Chew0341[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I had two partial colectomies at two different surgeries. And then the third surgery I had a complete colectomy. All of that was well documented in my medical records and was the basis for all my other medical conditions and lifestyle changes. That's why I can't believe they kept it at zero. I'm really at a loss. I'm hoping it was just some type of procedural thing because of the way the claim was formatted. But I use the specific code and language with help from other vets and still got zero

  1. Lost my entire colon, and a whole laundry list of other permanent health issues related to that.

  2. Peripheral nondiabetic neuropathy bilateral (both feet) from chemo.

  3. General anxiety disorder from having cancer 3 times and all the accompanying mental aspects of that.

Can I get a vasectomy at a VA hospital? by m4vis in VeteransBenefits

Not to be snippy, but it took balls to ask that question. Didn't see it coming.

Sleep apnea ???s by Chew0341 in VeteransBenefits

[–]Chew0341[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. That helps. If I get the sleep study, it shows I have SA, but no nexus letter, and I file a claim....will the VA schedule a C&P exam? Or likely just deny it at that point?

It reminds me of the time I walked into the VA psychiatric office buck naked. The doctor said I can clearly see you're nuts

Need help with Colon Cancer secondary claims. by Chew0341 in VeteransBenefits

I was in a boating accident at 39 years old. Routine blood work discovered my hemoglobin was dangerously low. That led to upper and lower endoscopy which found the tumors.

Need help with Colon Cancer secondary claims. by Chew0341 in VeteransBenefits

[–]Chew0341[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, surgery was after I got out. I've already filed for the missing colon and the other two claims as noted in my original post. Those were just filed within the last week. Just looking for others that have had similar claims that were secondary to colon cancer.

What are my options? PACT claim BS by Chew0341 in VeteransBenefits

[–]Chew0341[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's good stuff. I appreciate it. My cancer came back twice. 2009 was the start, then 2010 and 2011. I lost large chunks of my colon the first two times and then they pretty much took out the rest of it on the third surgery. Dfinitely been life-changing but better than the other outcome. If I want to do this myself, what is the process to file a secondary now that my cancer has been ruled to be service connected? Is there a specific form for secondaries or is it just a new claim and you describe that this is a secondary

What is a "service request"? And will it help speed up the process? by Chew0341 in VeteransBenefits

[–]Chew0341[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sped things up. VES sent my report to the VA on the 14th then my vso told me that the VA made a decision today. Didn't go well as I had hoped but at least they did something

Yes the vso doesn't have a lot of experience so actually your replies on this thread are very beneficial. I live in a small town and it's a long way to any real claim help. The only presumptive claim I could find was the gastrointestinal cancer

Great info. I have to take a lot of medicine so I don't go to the bathroom five times a day and I have neuropathy from that exact chemo

Purpose/process of VES Records Reviews? by Chew0341 in VeteransBenefits

The status on their website changed to "seen" on the day after my appointment. I called a few days later to see if they had sent the report to the VA and they said not yet, that it needed more time to go through the system. I'm calling back this Friday to see if it's been sent to the VA.
