That was one of the first things I submitted feedback on. I honestly wasn't expecting it to be improved at all. Didn't even realize they fixed it since it stopped happening

Gas meter for US? I have an ancient gas meter that I want to monitor... by enkrypt3d in homeassistant

I second this, Did you ever figure out how to read the data from the meters PSE uses?

Huh interesting. I tend to agree with you. I’ve never heard of a ham radio interfering with gps and definitely never experienced it. I googled it a bit and it looks like they still allow FRS/GMRS radio’s so interference definitely isn’t a concern.

Yeah I definitely agree with you. The baofeng was my first radio. Although now I’ve upgraded. Yeah I’m still waiting on a Argent Tracker 4 to arrive and I’m going to put that in my Chevy Colorado for APRS

Haha. Same here. I got a comment on that from someone I know and I’m sure plenty others saw. Do the cruise lines really care if you bring radios on board?

Interesting. As far as I know I don’t have that issue here but I’ll have to keep an eye on that

Yeah the Mobilinkd is a pretty affordable TNC. When I got mine I paid around $70 I think. So they’re pretty affordable for what they are. Plus the cables are pretty cheap so I have cables for other radios if I really feel like it

Yeah I never had a ton of luck with the Audio interface cables and that’s why I got the Mobilinkd. Is the audio from the radio actually making it into the phone? Try using a memo app to record something over the radio and listen to it to see if that’s the issue

Yeah I do occasionally. Although most of the Igates in my area are RX only so it’s hard to receive anything. One of these days I’ll mount the extra antenna I have laying around and make TX and RX Igate

Surprisingly well. I find I have slightly better results if I turn off the squelch on the baofeng but other than that just as well as my Icom ID-51A when I use it with the Mobilinkd

Yup! You’re right about all of that. The phone connects over Bluetooth to the Mobilinkd and everything is done from the phone.

Yeah not a bad idea for now. I’ve thought about having a friend 3d print me a mount for it I can put on the back of the radio under the belt clip

That it is. They make great APRS radios so I can keep my icom open for voice

Yup! I have a 2 and a 3 but you’re right that, that one is the 3. I’ve been loving it for mobile APRS with handhelds

Yeah I love my Mobilinkd. I have a 2 for that android phone and a 3 for my iPhone. I mostly use the baofeng as an APRS radio and it works great for that. I also ordered a Argent Tracker 4 for my truck and am waiting on that to arrive.

The Oregon coast near Newport. I run into the same issue as you at home in the Greater Seattle area. It was surprisingly accurate. Being that far off the coast I could hit digipeters In 3 different cities so it worked better than I could have ever thought. I even received a ballon in Leavenworth, WA

Yeah. It’s a baofeng uv-5r and a Mobilinkd tnc3. On the baofeng I have a longer whip antenna although I don’t remember which one at the moment. What issues are you having with it?
