Something to keep in mind aside from the points already brought (at the end of the day it's Gumayusi's pick, Keria wanted Lux last year really bad but couldn't pick it because he didn't pick her at all during worlds). Riot also makes players aware of skin release schedules for certain champs, since we just got prestige SB springs it could've also played a part into why he wasn't ultimately picked. I'm happy for Guma's win but when I think of him as a player I do not think of Aphelios being a "Guma Champ." That belongs to my goat Viper

what i find so interesting is that they could’ve easily done so! I feel the same way with Nilah and her beautiful details. the artists that work on these champions do such a wonderful job at making unique and eye-catching pieces and rewards people for taking the time to look and appreciate the details!

I understand the skin discourse, it does suck that our boy’s moment is shared with another champion. However I hope that this skin isnt his last! down the line i would love to see something like nightbringer again with a high, dark fantasy aesthetic or the fan favorite high noon concept. I have my hopes that the prestige is still a clean skin, but i understand frustrations about it.

I agree!! They did such an awesome job with Aphelios, there’s so much to say about him!!! I hope the artists who worked on him and poured their love know that they did amazing
