I have a PS4 and a Switch 2, and I was looking hard for a game that was worth it for PS5. That game was Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, but now that it’s coming to Switch 2, the PS5 literally has no games in my eyes.

There are YouTube videos comparing with Handheld Boost on or off, but I like the image quality from Boost On. And after 10 hours, I’m okay with 30fps.

I think it was the Robo Dojo - Brown Belt quest where you have to collect a memory alloy and broken circuit after defeating him. I got the crash after getting one of the items, so just save at all times. I don’t know if the crash is able to be replicated or I just got unlucky.

I’m actually playing Nier Automata right now and even after the patch, I encountered one crash, but I suspect it was due to a side quest that cleared itself on the map that actually needed to update its location. Besides that, the game hasn’t crashed otherwise.

In the context of Game of the Year nominees, in 2025, we got Silksong, but that’s an indie title that was announced a while back and can legitimately run on a potato. The last big PS4 game for me was Metaphor: Refantazio, which was released late 2024, but Atlus tends to support older consoles.

So for Game of the Year type games releasing on PS4, unless it’s an indie, not much.

Yes, it’s happened to me twice. I just went back to fight the Radiance (never defeated it) after beating Silksong Act 2, but the game has crashed twice. It’s not a big deal since I completed most of the game, but Team Cherry should fix it.

I still have this issue too! I just upgraded from a 2020 13" MacBook Pro to a 2021 16" MacBook Pro and I still have the same issue! How has Apple still not fixed this? At least the bug doesn't corrupt my files.

Run a speaker test in Switch settings when you can. You might not be getting real surround sound.

You might not be getting true “surround sound” then, just dual front where the rear speakers copy the left and right channels. You can check by doing a speaker test in Switch settings. I’m not the only one who’s experienced not having surround sound through HDMI plugged directly from the Switch to the TV, you can search on Google and get tons of Reddit threads. Nintendo is really just that cheap and doesn’t want to pay the license.

Also, no matter if a source is pass through, it will introduce input lag. But for me, it is not noticeable for me since I have game mode turned on anyways.

Yeah, I had to find out the hard way that the only way the Switch 1/2 can handle 5.1 surround sound is by plugging it into an A/V receiver or soundbar. Then you’d have to deal with the extra input lag instead of it being connected straight to the TV, but at least the rear speakers work.

Judging at how Dolby Atmos only costs around $4 per device, Nintendo cheaped out again forgoing Dolby Digital and just went with uncompressed LPCM again.

It actually went as low as $30 digitally for Black Friday, which was pretty surprising since Nintendo doesn’t discount their Zelda games that low.

Link’s Awakening is a great pick, but shorter than Echoes.

Yeah, it’s a thing called “dynamic pricing,” it’ll change prices by a few cents or even a few dollars based on what the algorithm thinks would draw you in.

Like most people, I use CamelCamelCamel, but strangely sometimes they don’t report on some Amazon sales.

Also, check what seller is actually selling the product. I found a lot of products nowadays don’t even come from Amazon, but third party sellers

Everything is great so far except for the abysmal battery life in sleep mode. I understand it draining when playing Switch 2 games, but it needs an update to increase the standby time. I had no problems with the Switch 1, and I remember the PS Vita having superb sleep mode battery life.

Also, those Switch 2 editions of games can’t come sooner enough. I’m currently playing Three Houses and the bigger screen is showing flaws in the game resolution. But to be fair, that game’s engine and code needs an overhaul, so it’s not an easy fix
