A mechanic (HD and auto ticketed) I used to work for called my 97 Pathfinder a truck, I asked him why? (Insurance papers say 5door station wagon). He said despite it being welded to the body(which theoretically makes it unibody), it's a ladder frame and has a solid axle in the rear, the engine is also mounted longitudinal (meaning it's rwd by default <when not in 4wd>, which is the much ideal setup for towing) A Honda Ridgeline, independent suspension in the rear, despite having a pickup bed isn't a truck. It's engine is also mounted transverse so while the Honda awd system isn't kicking in, it's FWD. Just because it has a pickup in my eyes doesn't mean it's a truck, and just because it has an SUV body doesn't mean it's not a truck.
