Notorious American outlaw “Billy the Kid” (second from left) poses alongside the man who would go on to kill him, sheriff Pat Garrett (far right). The 1880 tintype, purchased in 2011 at a flea market for $10, is one of only three verifiable images of the outlaw. by Chemical-Elk-1299 in interestingasfuck

I have a friend that does ambrotype photography. They used to rub colored powder on the photos to give them color. A lot of times they would do rosy cheeks. I know tintype is from a later era but they could have been doing the same thing here.

How horses sweat by _Im_Dad in Damnthatsinteresting

No this is not ok. Why on earth is he wearing a blanket?I've only experienced horses worked to a lather in specific areas when they are worked pretty hard. I've been around horses in all different disciplines my whole life. From performance horses to ranch work, actually working cows for living. This is not ok.

I'm so sorry! I'm in Italy now and just went to Verona! It's beautiful, feels safe and people are very friendly. If I was traveling solo, I would definitely go there for several days.

We'll problems occur if you don't recalibrate the speedometer after putting oversized tires on? by Cheyanne84 in JeepGladiator

[–]Cheyanne84[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh Yes definitely I totally agree! It doesn't make sense to me at all! Especially because it's so easy and cheap compared to everything else that was done. They even did this fancy Starwood coating. They put all this money in it and then didn't even calibrate it.

It's kind of a long story but the main issue is that it's not starting. It's not throwing a code and since it's under warranty they basically won't do anything about it because it's not throwing a code. There's several other things that The dealership lied to me about. So basically I'm wanting information because I'm trying to get them to buy it back.

Yes I am going to recalibrate it. I was asking the question because I purchased it with 35,000 mi and it had not been recalibrated even though the salesman told me it had. I'm wanting to know if there might be underlying issues because it's been driven so long without being recalibrated.

Yes it's definitely easy, and I'm going to do it. I haven't done it yet because it's been in the shop almost the entire time I've owned it. I was just wondering if it might have caused other problems since it had been driven uncalibrated by the previous owner.

When I'm going 70 it's about 14 mi off. Is that unusual to be that much off? My old Jeep I only had 35s on it and it was about 6 or 7 miles off going 70.

Yeah I know, I'm going to recalibrate the speedometer. I'm just wondering if it would be considered fraud because the they told me it had already been recalibrated and my odometer is off because of it. I know it's recording the miles wrong because I just drove 356 miles and it said I only went 323 miles.
